4 Things That Ruin A First Impression ⬇️

1. Constant interrupting.

If you are constantly talking over people, it gives off the impression that you only care about yourself and what you have to say. “I’m just excited” or “I’ll forget what I’m gonna say” is not an excuse. It’s rude and makes people feel unheard and frustrated.

2. Saying “I know” when people compliment you, instead of “Thank you”.

It does not exude confidence. It comes across as arrogant and unappreciative. People may not say it, but responding to a compliment with “I know” will likely leave a bad taste in their mouth and make them never want to compliment you again.

3. One-word answers.

You sound disinterested and disengaged. It makes it way harder to get I know you and puts all of the pressure on the other person to carry the conversation. If you struggle with knowing what to say, use my 4 C’s of Conversation method.

4. Only talking about yourself and never asking about the other person.

Like interrupting, this is a conversational habit that will make you seem very self-centered. A conversation takes two, and it means getting to know the other person too. On the receiving end, it can be exhausting to listen to someone go on about themselves.

✨If this resonates with you and you are ready to become a more socially magnetic version of yourself, comment MAGNETIC.

READ THIS:
I recommend this language learning method if you are intermediate or above.

Acting out skits in my target languages and using bad grammar on purpose helps me so much with internalizing the right way to say things.

When something is funny and enjoyable, your brain is way more likely to retain it.

SIDE NOTE: Another method I like to use is dual language subtitles and VocaView is a good app for that.

It will put the subtitles on pretty much any YouTube video you’re watching and it’s a really good way to learn new words and fit language learning into your day. It isn’t perfect, so I like to cross reference it with DeepL occasionally.

But it’s mostly accurate and so I think it’s a pretty easy and convenient way to learn

Someone in my comment section had very big feelings. If you want to find someone’s trigger, watch what makes them throw a tantrum like a 2 year old. And send them Gut Punch, my shadow work journal/coloring book, so they can heal and stop being toxic to others 😂

If you have a toxic relationship with your mother, here’s something you can do today to start healing.

I will never stop talking about how narcissistic parents ruin their kids’ social development. Ever.
