After graduating St. Raymond’s two all-time leading scorers and coming off a championship appearance the previous season, the Ravens entered the year in clear rebuilding mode. With seven returning veteran players joined by three junior transfers and two promising freshmen, the team set out to redefine its identity while hoping to make another return to Fordham University on Championship Sunday.
The season presented its share of challenges. With many new faces adjusting to expanded roles, the Ravens worked to build chemistry while battling early adversity, including injuries and the flu. Despite these setbacks, the team continued to compete hard and grow together throughout the season.
St. Raymond finished with an overall record of 12–16, including a strong 8–7 mark in league play, which secured the #3 seed in the Diocesan Playoffs. The Ravens delivered an impressive 78–41 victory over Mount St. Michael in the quarterfinals before falling to Cardinal Hayes in the semifinal round, ending a two-year run of appearances in the diocesan championship game.
The Ravens continued their postseason run in the CHSAA Intersectional Playoffs, defeating St. Peter’s 58–53 in the second round to advance to the Intersectional Quarterfinals. Their season ended in a hard-fought 67–70 loss to Holy Cross, falling just short of their postseason goals.
The program bids farewell to a dedicated group of seniors. NaJay Bess, who was named Third Team All-League, Ibrahima Camara, Hassan Cisse, Elvis Crespo, and Jomar Fuentes, whose leadership and commitment helped guide the team through a transitional season and helped set the tone for the upcoming season.
Looking ahead, the future of Ravens basketball is bright. The program is excited about the continued development of freshmen Todd Arrington and Brazir Nelson, as well as the leadership expected from rising seniors Yesid Caicedo, Jacob Dyson, Elijah Jenkins, Zaire Johnson, and Juan Quinones as they prepare for the 2026–27 season.
