The Niall O’Leary School of Irish Dance is so excited to join NYC’s biggest dance celebration, , on Saturday May 16, 2026! Watch as hundreds of dance groups light up the streets of Manhattan with their moves. Let’s celebrate the joy of dance together!
NYC Dance Parade 20th Anniversary!

And we will be performing in Thompson Square Park in the East Village after, 2.44pm-2.50pm!

Join us for an unforgettable time as we dance our way through Manhattan in the 20th Annual And don’t miss the grand finale—DanceFest—happening at Tompkins Square Park right after the parade!

The Niall O’Leary School of Irish Dance will be dancing in the NYC Dance Parade from 6th Ave and 17th Street, down 6th Ave, along 8th St. to St. Mark’s Place from 1pm to 2.15pm approx, and our performance in Tompkins Square Park is 2.44pm approx! If you see us give us a Wave and a Wooooo!!

Congratulations to our amazing dancers who represented the Niall O'Leary School of Irish Dance at The North American Irish Dance Championships at the Ga***rd National Harbor Resort and Convention Center this past week! And thanks to our wonderful teaching team for helping to get them ready!

Highlights included:
• Adult Mixed 8 hand ceili 2nd place
• Beckett adult Trad Set 2nd place
• Ladies Mixed 8 hand ceili 3rd place
• Ian in Senior mens' c'ship 16th place
• Anna in advanced adult c'ship 30th place
And also a big shout out to Kim in adult c'ship and our over 16 Mixed Ceili who danced so well!

Other highlights included:
• Helping the dancers from our associated school, and hanging with their fab teaching team!
• Chatting with the Irish Ambassador to the US, Geraldine Byrne Nason at the Reception held in her honor
• The excitement when she arrived for the showcase
• Playing spoons with the band at the Piano bar during the Teacher's Party
• The Lobby Sessions, where dancers got to dance on the Mitchell Dance Platform that I brought on the train from NYC!
• All the great Music at the event all week, especially Katie Grennan and Ann Marie Acosta, the only all-women pairing that I have heard at any Major in recent years!
• And of course all the great dancing!

Congratulations to the chairpeople and everyone who helped to make the event such a success!
