Talking AT people is never a good tactic. Our attention spans aren’t long, so it’s important to account for breaks in your communication to check in and ask for questions or feedback along the way.

At the very least, offer an analogy to the point you’re trying to communicate so as to help people reframe their thoughts and be more open to asking questions and clarifying the message.

Whenever you’re addressing a group of people in a visual manner, be aware of your posture, eye contact, and what your limbs are doing. Try to keep your arms uncrossed, your chin lifted up, and your shoulders rolled back.
