Arnold Schwarzenegger slapped Triple H on November 11, 1999 (taped November 9, 1999) during an episode of SmackDown. Arnold appeared as a special guest to promote his movie End of Days. He sat at ringside and got involved during the main event match. When Triple H confronted him, Arnold ducked a punch and slapped him before helping Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Backlash 2000 delivered one of the most unforgettable endings of the Attitude Era. After months of chaos surrounding Triple H, The Rock, and Vince McMahon, the entire arena exploded the moment Stone Cold Steve Austin’s iconic glass-shattering music hit. The crowd reaction was absolutely deafening, instantly turning the atmosphere into pure mayhem. Austin stormed toward the ring and wasted no time getting involved, taking the fight directly to Triple H and helping The Rock overcome the odds. His unexpected return completely shifted the momentum and ultimately allowed The Rock to reclaim the WWE Championship, giving fans the payoff they had been waiting months to witness. The combination of Austin’s surprise appearance, Triple H getting what was coming to him, and The Rock capturing the championship made the ending feel like the perfect conclusion to one of the Attitude Era’s wildest rivalries. Even more than two decades later, the moment remains one of WWE’s most iconic crowd reactions and one of the defining finishes of the era. 🔥🍺💥
