A wonderful benefit of Pilates is the Mind–Body Connection.

Pilates encourages you to focus on breath, alignment, and control. This mindful movement not only improves coordination and focus but also helps you feel calmer and more grounded long after class ends.

Meet Kristia Lui

Kristia first started taking Pilates classes in 2014 as a low impact way to keep her body moving while dealing with a knee issue. She fell in love with Pilates and decided to take her first Pilates Mat Training with Equinox Pilates Training Institute in 2016. She has been teaching Pilates ever since and enjoys helping people get stronger and healthier. Kristia further pursued her passion and received her 600-Hour Comprehensive Program Pilates certification (apparatus and mat) through Core Pilates NYC in 2021.

As a first-time mother, she was even more amazed by how practicing Pilates had helped her to have a healthy pregnancy, manageable labor and delivery, and smooth postpartum recovery. She teaches with positivity, encouragement, and warmth and is very excited to share the transformative benefits of Pilates with others. Kristia joined the team at The Pilates Movement NYC in April 2021 and teaches in studio and on our virtual platform.

How to Build a Wellness Routine That Feels Good

Not sure where to start? You don’t have to do it all at once.
Try these gentle steps to reset your routine:

πŸ—“οΈ Pick 2 β€œanchor” days each week for movement. Start smallβ€”then build from there.

🧘 Choose classes that match your energy today, not some β€œideal” version of yourself. Private Sessions are best for this.

πŸ›οΈ Make rest a priorityβ€”recovery is part of progress.

🀝 Ask for support. Our instructors are here to help you adapt, grow, and feel confident.

πŸ“£ Celebrate small wins. Consistency is a win. Showing up is a win. Saying β€œthat’s enough for today” is a win too.

Wellness isn’t a finish lineβ€”it’s a relationship you nurture with your body, over time, with care.

Why Pilates Nurtures Whole-Body Wellness

One of the things we love most about Pilates? It meets you exactly where you are.

Whether you’re rebuilding strength, finding calm, improving posture, managing stress, or simply moving more, Pilates adapts to your body and your needs.

It supports:
β€’ Core strength and gentle stability
β€’ Mind-body connection through breath and awareness
β€’ Mobility and flexibilityβ€”without high-impact strain
β€’ Nervous system balance, especially during stressful times
β€’ Long-term, safe movement that you can enjoy year after year

Most importantly, Pilates encourages consistency.
You don’t need to push yourself to the limit to see benefits. All you need to do is show upβ€”and let your body guide the way.
