JUST START 👍 1.) Think less, Do more The more we try to think about the best plan and the optimal outcome the less time we spend doing the things we actually need to be doing to reach our goals! Perfect is the enemy of good and perfect doesn’t exist so we might as well get something started today! 2.) Small Change > No change We often see massive transformations on social media and big and complicated plans with so many details that it discourages us from doing anything in the first place. Focus on making 1 small change (like walking 10 minutes every morning when you wake up) and focusing on making that change consistently! 3.) Have Fun! Sometimes fitness looks different for everyone. Maybe gyms are scary and you have gym anxiety, but hiking brings you joy and gets you moving more! Choose the thing you enjoy and find communities that make you empower you to reach your goals rather than fit a mold that you may not love!

Husband first, Coach second For so long I didn't know how to encourage her in the right ways to get her to fall in love with the process like I did, but here are the rules that changed the ways I was able to support her! 1. I lead by example before I ever give advice. If I can't abide by my own rules, I don't have the right to enforce them onto her. 2. I encourage effort, not outcomes. Showing up is what counts. She's worked out every day in the new year and we celebrate our streak every day 3. I never talk down to her. I never want her to feel shame or embarrassment. I'm way more experienced than her and a silly question to be may be the difference in her understanding something really important. 4. I remind her how strong she already is. I hype her up and celebrate any win we can. The more we celebrate, the better we can keep moving towards progress! 5. I make training something we enjoy, not something she dreads. The spicy jokes are always my favorite part 6. I support her food choices without judgment. Food is fuel and as long as we raise our awareness we can have as much boba as we want 7. I help with meals, prep, and planning. Her fitness journey is our fitness journey. If I can make it easier for her to follow the plan, I will do everything in my power to do so. 8. I listen more than I speak. She doesn't need someone bossing her around and drilling her. I need to be aware of her and how she's feeling to encourage her in the right ways. 9. I protect her confidence, especially on hard days. She's going to have more hard days than me and that's okay. If that means I got to slow down and stay on her pace that's what it means to prioritize your partner. 10. I remember my role first- husband, partner, teammate. I am a coach to everyone here and on my program, but to her I'm her everything and I can't just be a coach.
