Designed by Elite Special Forces Operators, our patented packs are “Built for War. Ready for the Hunt”

So not long ago @thebackfortyca and @dauntlessengineering teamed up to start offering this new pack from a company called @skiligear and I was lucky enough to be handed one to see how I liked it. Now these are currently in use in places and by people alot more important than the ranch or me, however I was still grateful for the opportunity to check it out, and figured I'd give a review of it here after putting in a couple miles with it last weekend.

The first thing you notice is that it's light. My chief complaint about my fullsize pack with the rifle scabbard is that empty, the pack is pretty damn heavy. The @skiligear is the opposite, and does so by simply not incorporating material they deem not necessary, as this is not a traditional pack design.

Initially the padding on the shoulder straps seems thin, however I found it to be comfortable throughout the day, and not something that I actually thought about with it on my back. This is the Ghost Pack which is the larger of their two models, and has a "lumbar pad" on it which was definitely appreciated.

The "grid" that serves as the basis for the rifle attachment system leaves enough modularity in it that you'll be able to rig a rifle in however your heart desires, including making custom straps/attachments if you'd like to. With an AR/LVPO there's enough extra room on the grid for another accessory like a supressor pouch or the like.

Overall storage space is good, and it's clear that it's built to bring along everything you need, and nothing you don't, and provide fast and efficient access to any of it at any time. The price is a bit steep until you factor in that it's made 100% here in the USA, and is BERRY compliant which definitely drives cost up but you'll never question the overall quality of what you're getting.

Overall, I like it. I think as far as these shorter field classes go that it'll continue to be what I grab first, and at this point I have no questions about it's ability to hold up and deal with the unique environment out there with constant on/off the back, being rubbed in the dirt, and packing/unpacking it's contents, and I'm excited to see where @skiligear will be in the future 05/22/2025
