🌿 May Message: Endurance
How Does One Possess Endurance?
I have learned that endurance is essential in every area of life—spiritually, mentally, and physically. Endurance is the staying power required to reach one’s God-given goals and fitness aspirations. It is the ability to remain steadfast when challenges arise and to continue pressing forward when the temptation to quit appears.
Endurance is developed through patience. Patience gives us the strength to persevere beyond the point of quitting to fulfill our Stay Faithfully Fit goals and Kingdom assignment.
Why Is Endurance Important in Kingdom Fitness?
Endurance is significant because God calls us to present our bodies as living sacrifices unto Him (Romans 12:1). This Christian characteristic sustains us as we are being perfected in Christ, not only spiritually and mentally, but also physically.
James 1:12 reminds us:
Blessed is the one who remains steadfast under trial…
Steadfastness is another expression of endurance. It produces commitment—the discipline of remaining constant, consistent, and faithful despite opposition or discomfort.
One begins to master endurance when they push beyond feelings of giving up, caving in, or quitting before achieving spiritual, mental, and physical balance. Proverbs 11:1 teaches us that false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is His delight. God desires balance and integrity in every area of our lives.
How Do We Achieve Physical Endurance Through Spiritual Principles?
Hebrews 10:36 declares:
For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
To endure physically, we must first develop the right mindset spiritually. Scripture tells us, Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. The right attitude produces the proper focus, and the right focus produces the right results.
We must embrace the understanding that physical endurance requires physical discipline. Workouts, healthy eating, consistency, and perseverance are all part of the process.
Ecclesiastes 9:11 reminds us that the race is not always given to the swift or the strong, but endurance is required to finish well. Kingdom fitness is not a temporary commitment—it is a lifelong journey of discipline, stewardship, and transformation.
Remain steadfast. Stay committed. Endure the process.
Because through endurance, strength is developed, character is refined, and purpose is fulfilled.
Yours in Christ,

We ran a great race and fought a strong fight. From the top and bottom of my heart, thank you for your efforts, dedication, support, love, time, and generosity. It all went toward a meaningful cause—supporting B+ Foundation research in the fight to cure childhood cancer.
Now it’s time to step into the next chapter of my journey. I’m shifting my focus to bringing my faith to the stage as a competitor in the UFEvents show in Canada on June 20, 2026.
The Ms. Health and Fitness Challenge was part of the journey—not the destination. Because when God closes one door, He always opens another. 🤍

October - Preparation
The spiritual preparation needed to Stay Faithfully Fit.
The Stay Faithfully Fit concept encompasses more than just physical fitness. It also encompasses spiritual and mental wellness. My decision to compete in Lee Haney’s Fitness Competition in October 2015 wasn’t merely an ideal. It was part of God’s plan for my life. Since it was a calling, it was essential to maintain a certain level of spiritual fitness and health to help me develop the mindset (March) necessary to endure the 6-8 months of training (September). When you are spiritually prepared, it strengthens mental discipline (April) and endurance (May), helping you stay balanced—spirit, soul, and body.
What does it mean to be mentally fit?
By mental preparedness, I mean maintaining the mental stability necessary to reach my goals. While training for the Lee Haney show, I made it a priority to ensure my daily activities supported my objectives. This involved limiting social events to only those that were essential, such as spending time with family or participating in special occasions like holidays or birthdays.
How can one develop mental fitness?
Here are some recommended steps for building mental and emotional resilience: (1) surround yourself with positive people; (2) develop relationships aligned with your goals; (3) participate in practical activities that enrich your life; (4) connect with like-minded individuals—those who understand and support your goals; and (5) take part in opportunities to uplift others. When we are mentally and emotionally healthy, it becomes easier to inspire others and help them embrace the grace (June) given to them.
What are some steps to ensure physical readiness?
That’s the real challenge. Besides sticking to an intense training routine, my diet had to be precisely on point, with little room for flexibility. This is often where many of us fall short in reaching our weight loss goals. Whether you’re athletic or not, it’s about what you put into your body. Rachel often reminded me that diet was crucial, and she was right. Part of my prep involved planning and measuring all my meals on Sundays. After training, it was simple—just grab a pre-made meal and give my body what it needed to recover.
Can you share an example of your diet while preparing for the show?
For my morning meal, I had egg whites, oatmeal, and a serving of fruit. Throughout the day, my meals included chicken breasts, 99% lean turkey, or salmon; carbohydrates included sweet potatoes, salads, asparagus, and broccoli. For fats, I used 1 tablespoon of olive oil or 12 almonds.
You didn’t mention protein shakes as part of your diet. Why?
Protein shakes serve as meal replacements, providing essential
It wasn’t in the meal plan. Protein drinks provide micronutrients. However, whole foods, rich in macronutrients, are better suited for rebuilding muscle and refueling energy.
