I was at the beach reading one of my favorite books by which I’ve read at least 20 times over the years. It’s one of my bibles and every time I open to a page, it’s like a message from God. Today it reminded me that our fear isn’t the truth, it’s just old programming. We can give ourselves permission to feel good. I’ve been on a good feeling roll today and I just purposely burnt my sweet potatoes in the oven so that my house would smell like my grandmother’s. Little joys. 😘

Your heart is not a tool.
It is a temple.

And when it grows heavy,
don’t close it.

Move it.

Lift the ribs like wings.
Let the breath sweep the dust.
Let the front body remember
it was made for receiving too.

A simple heart-opening sequence
is a prayer in motion:

Arms wide.
Chest spacious.
Throat unguarded.

Just reflecting on how it’s been 23 years since I smoked my last cigarette on New Year’s Eve. And today I am this version of Tedessa. We get to become whatever we want to become. I love the reframe about self discipline actually being an act of self love. ❤️
