Lifesigns Taxidermy

Lifesigns Taxidermy is a privately owned taxidermy studio. We treat every piece as if it were our own, no exceptions. Custom work is our specialty.

Headed out on a hunt and not sure how best to handle your trophy in the field? Call us before you go and we can help you with your field care. The best cared for animals in the field make the best mounts. Although we can fix, repair and hide certain problems, taxidermy is not magical by any means. A little extra care for your trophy in the field and during transit can make a huge difference in the quality of the finished piece. Call us anytime with questions or concerns, or even just to chat. Good luck!

Operating as usual

Stone sheep ....a real favorite of mine.

[09/02/17]   GOT VELVET ???
Several velvet bucks have shown up the last two days. With the high temps that we are having, how you handle velvet antlers can be critical. Best advice is to NOT handle them at all! If you are taking pics, hang on to the ear and or neck. The extra heat from your hands and grabbing the antlers can ruin the velvet in a hurry. Keep them dry and get them to your taxidermist ASAP. Good luck to the rest of you!

A lot of good bear are being harvested, stay after 'em and have fun!

BEAR HUNTERS...... hides spoil just as fast as the meat in this hot weather. Have your game plan in place before you pull the trigger or release that arrow! Call if you have any questions on proper field care for your trophy.

Mule deer in velvet. This one had quite a bit of junk around the bases.

Here's a Stone sheep to go with the Bighorn. They will not sit right without help, they roll over and end upside down. Hence the heavy base and stem.

A custom skull holder for the table. Sheep guys LOVE to handle 'em, so its removable. VERY old wood. BigHorn Sheep

Bullwinkle antler wrap. He has a hole in the left paddle, must have been doing some jousting. These antlers had been cut off the skull, so some extra work involved. Very important to get them in the correct position.

I love these little pretty. Fur, feathers or fins, Lifesigns Taxidermy has you covered. This piece is being donated to the Inland Northwest Wildlife Council. They are having a ice cream social this coming tuesday evening. Stop in and if you win the heads or tails game you can take it home with you. No entry fee. Completely free to play.

2017 YOU Fundraiser Yakima

If you haven't been to one of these events, give it a try. It is so humbling and worth the time to help out these young hunters and to give something back. Each year we are paired up with one of these special young hunters and do a mount for them. Very rewarding. 2017 YOU Fundraiser Yakima

Caribou and Coues deer.

[11/02/16]   VELVET CARE.......
More and more of our clients are harvesting deer in velvet so maybe these tips can help some of you. Treat you velvet antlers with the utmost care. Unless the velvet is completely dried on, refrain from touching them as much as possible. Your hands damage the hairs and if handled too much can cause faster breakdown of the skin under the velvet and earlier rot. It's best to contact your taxidermist prior to an early season hunt and get advice on hide care. Best of luck to you all the rest of the season.
