Precise movement with Dynamic stretching. Light weights opening sternum, deltoids, lats. Planks into sissy sit ups. Struggling with a set of 10, but completed 4 sets. Leg lifts to get reacquainted with my glutes...hello Minimus, Medius, Maximus is off the charts right now.
Monday 1/24: Stretching, Straight Leg Deads, Bicep & Tricep with shoulders, a couple of abdominal strengtheners.
Day two of self-rediscovery. Back at the mat, which honestly, seems almost foreign. I feel like I'm rushed. As if I need to be swept in that methodical momentum of being swallowed by society. But the Blessing is that I've already been given this lesson, & I understand that everything takes time. 21 days in the making when a task becomes habit.
Floor work consisting of push-ups, leg lifts, light weights with some upper body movement. Moving my body to awaken all the muscle tissue & even the joints that sleep.
Side goals: Research a Blog aside from this page & perhaps divulge away from & recreate this page. Goal date by this month's end (one week). Back to the floor, this truly feels good physically, now to get my mind totally in the game. Morning Mantra:
"It is more than ok to spend time on my health during the morning hours."
As I get reacquainted with myself, my body, it's abilities, weaknesses, strengths, imbalances, on this first full day of my 54th year, I recognize the aspects of neglect, in every facet. Mind, body, soul.
Our evolutionary journeys sometimes take us to those unwelcoming,forbidden places at times. Yet it's our resiliency, our determinations, an awakening, or perhaps even our destiny to emerge from what the world handed us, what we allowed, & what we are left with. Everything is a stepping stone. Everything.
Today, day 1: 30 minutes of reacquainting with soothing stretches to awaken the fascia tissue & stretch what's left of the underlying muscle. Light weights to determine a starting point. Realignment of the body to pin-point asymmetrical imbalance.
Starting here ~ this is my year.
