Norview Wrestling

Norview Middle wrestled their first match against ADL tonight at home. Although we lost by 6 on the scoreboard, we take a win for the growth of our program! Practice the rest of the week, then off to Lake Taylor on Monday! Final score: 48-54 ADL.

Wrestling provides the space for young girls to develop strength, courage, and grit. Introduce more girls into wrestling and you’ll see generations of strong women.

Wrestling runs in Destiny McKnight's family. Her father wrestled and it was something she'd always wanted to try, but had never hit the mat herself.

That all changed when she arrived at Tallwood High School her junior year.

"I feel good, I feel strong, I'm as healthy as I've ever been," Destiny smiled. "Wrestling, it's just really close to my heart now. It's really changed me in a lot of ways. I'm way more disciplined now."

Congrats to Breon Epps (6th: 190) and Jamar Whyles (5th: 215) for placing at the VHSL Wrestling State Championship. They battled this season to earn their spots and now look towards the next level. Jamar plans to wrestle at Randolph and Breon plans to wrestle at Ferrum.

Last night was an unforgettable celebration as Norview High School honored its senior wrestlers. Their dedication, leadership, and team spirit will truly be missed, BUT WE’RE NOT DONE! Tournament at Granby tomorrow and our final district event on the 22nd. GO PILOTS!!!
