The katana is famous for lightning-fast draw-cuts that combine drawing the sword and slashing in one motion! But unless you know how to move your body to avoid incoming cuts, you might get cut too! Figuring out how to move your body is half the battle.

Wow! The German Messer vs Filipino Kali. GN and I exchange some concepts and techniques from these sword martial arts! GN is truly a master of his craft (IMO) and it was one of the best crossover training sessions I've had. Check it out! How much does German and Filipino "knife fighting" have in common? Let us know.

The kampilan often had a metal staple in the wooden hand guard, and on this staple could be draped leather or chainmail.
