Something new is coming to Virginia.
April 9–11, 2027, Blades of the Dominion brings together HEMA, Kenjutsu, knife fighting, archery, and historical combat for three days at the Airfield 4-H Center in Wakefield, VA.
This isn’t just another tournament weekend. We’re building a convention and faire around the martial arts we love — and taking it out of the convention hall.
Set among woods, open fields, trails, and the lake, BOTD is meant to be a weekend you can actually settle into. Compete hard, take a class, shoot archery, explore the grounds, visit the vendors, catch a demonstration, or find somewhere by the water to relax between events.
Expect HEMA tournaments in Longsword, Saber, and Knife, an all-steel Japanese Kenjutsu tournament, and an Archery Tournament with prizes, along with open range time for those who simply want to shoot. We’ll also have classes and seminars taught by instructors coming in from across the martial arts community.
Beyond the competition, we’re planning craftsmen and vendors, demonstrations, entertainment, outdoor activities, camping, and plenty of opportunities to simply enjoy the grounds and the people around you.
Come to fight. Come to learn. Come to shoot. Or come because spending three days in the woods surrounded by swords, archery, martial arts, crafts, and good people sounds like a pretty great weekend.
We’ll be announcing instructors, tournament formats, prizes, classes, vendors, activities, and more as we get closer.
