Our Oklahoma Thorpes girls battled all day long but fell short in the finals at the Native Youth Classic! But they played some great ball and they represented their tribes and communities very well! Very proud of them! They’re even going home with a little bit of cash which is never a bad thing! It was awesome playing against some legit all native teams from all over the country and seeing all the talent from different states. Athletics plays a big part in these communities and it’s awesome seeing the support these places give these kids to come out here and compete. But we’ll be back next year! Thanks to everyone from our communities that donated, helped, shared a flyer, and even offered words of support for these girls! We truly appreciate all of it! Until next time Thorpes!

Taylin Scraper #00

Tribe: Cherokee Nation

Class: 2036

Community: Stilwell, Ok

Favorite Softball Players: Sam Landry, Kendall Wells, Ailana Agbayani

“Taylin is an 8U softball player out of Stilwell, OK who has been playing since she was 4 years old. She’s always been one of the youngest and smallest on the field, but that hasn’t stopped her from being a salty little player with a lot of grit and determination. She’s not afraid to compete with older girls and works hard every time she steps on the field. Taylin plays pitcher, second base, and shortstop, and loves being right in the middle of the action. When she’s not playing softball, she stays busy with basketball, soccer, and rodeo, where she holds the title of Little Mrs. LRC at the Lincoln Rodeo. In her free time, she enjoys riding horses and four-wheelers, drawing, and hunting. Taylin is competitive, tough, and always gives it her all.”

Welcome to the Thorpes Taylin!

Brinley Eagleton aka “cheeseburger” #22

Tribe: Cherokee Nation

Class: 2034

Community: Stilwell, OK

Favorite softball player: Kasidi Pickering

“Brinley is the kind of player who shows up ready to compete and have fun doing it. She’s been around the game long enough that her glove probably has more miles on it than her shoes. She plays with energy, confidence, and isn’t afraid of pressure moments. Off the field she’s just as busy, always about friends and fun, but you’ll probably still find her at the field watching her siblings practice or play ball… those fields are basically her second home. At the end of the day, she’s all about softball, good memories, and a cheeseburger when it’s all said and done.”

Welcome to the Thorpes Brinley!

She’s recently fallen in love with catching, but she can pitch and play wherever her coach needs her and takes pride in being a true utility player. Ever plays with a ton of passion, brings plenty of personality as the team comedian, and is her teammates’ biggest hype girl—always celebrating others and bringing the energy. When she’s not on the field, she’s hanging with family, playing basketball, staying active, getting creative with art, and wants to try boxing and flag football.”
