Bart and Nadia

In April 1996, Comaneci married American Olympic Champion Bart Conner in a Romanian state wedding. Comaneci now divides her time among appearances, commercial endorsements for major companies, speaking engagements and charity events. In December of 2003, Nadia wrote a book called Letters to a Young Gymnast, detailing her inspirational story. Currently, Nadia and Bart are business partners with their manager, Paul Ziert, in the Bart Conner Gymnastics Academy, International Gymnast magazine, Perfect 10 Productions, Inc. (a TV production company) and Grips, Etc. (a gymnastics supply company). Volunteer Activities

Bart and Nadia are members of the Board of Directors of Special Olympics, we have traveled all over the world States to support the mission of Special Olympics to give opportunities through sports training and competition for persons with intellectual disabilities. We have seen, first hand, the transformative powers of this important movement to change perceptions about the potential for people with intellectual challenges. Nadia is a founding member of the Laureus Academy which now includes 46 global living legends in sports. The mission of Laureus is to use sports as a tool for social change and celebrate sporting excellence. Bart and Nadia have worked as volunteers in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. MDA exists to provide research, and patient services, and most important, hope, for individuals and families affected by neuromuscular disease. The Nadia Comaneci Foundation, based in Bucharest, Romania, is a non-political, non-governmental and non-profit organization, initiated by Nadia Comaneci to provide encouragement, support and promotion of exceptional performances in any field of activity including sports, education and improving the quality of family life. Bart and Nadia support the mission of the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame to preserve the legacies and inspiring stories of the most accomplished gymnasts in the world. The Bart Conner Gymnastics Academy in Norman, Okla. is one of the largest and best-equipped gymnastics centers in the United States.
