North East Girls Wrestling Team is looking for a Head Coach to help build and grow the girls team.

We have multiple youth and middle school state medalists and state qualifiers getting ready to move up to the varsity level, along with interest with multiple new young ladies. These young ladies will have their own schedule of duals and tournaments as well as an opportunity to qualify for the PIAA state tournament

Congratulations to current North East Varsity Wrestling Head Coach Alex Svetz and former North East wrestler and Mercyhurst North East Wrestling coach Jack Locke on their induction into the North East Athletics Hall of Fame this past Saturday. Very much deserved by these two gentlemen who have done so much for the sport of wrestling!

Bryson will compete at 144 lbs and brings a strong resume into the event:

Representing North East, Pennsylvania, Bryson will enter his senior season as one of the athletes helping build Team PA’s lineup.

Wrestling Season wrapped up this past week with the banquet being held at the American Legion in North East. We had a chance to honor and celebrate our wrestlers and managers and their season/careers. First we’d like to thank our team managers Haylee Phelps and MaKenna Belson. Next recognize our 4 PIAA State Qualifiers Kael Kimmy (2x) Bryson Galloway (2x) Kyler See (2x) and Logan Latimore.

Saying goodbye to this senior class was/will not be easy! This group of kids started wrestling together at 4/5 years old with the North East Little Wrestlers program and grew into an amazing and talented group that helped put NE wrestling back in the map. From making D10 team playoff berths, to getting a win in the D10 bracket (both 1sts in school history) 2 100 career winners, 2 40 wins in a season wrestlers and a career wins leader. This group was special, and they built the foundation going forward! Thank you Rocky Kowle, Kyler See, Michael McGrath, Pascal LaPorte, Lucas Phelps and Logan Latimore for your years with this program and the memories made along the way!!!

Last but not least THANK YOU to coaches Alex Svetz, Shane Kimmy, Josh Klenz and Garrett Kopp for your dedication, efforts and commitment to these kids. It was a tough season but you guys made the transition easy and kept the kids the priority the whole season
