Doing an hr of exercising is great for our health, wellness, and fitness but if your goal is weight loss that hr only accounts for a fraction of the day.

If you really want to make that scale move then focus on NEAT. And add movement to everything you can that you would normally be sedentary. Easy way to do this don’t seek Convenience. Take the stairs, park further away from the mall or work, fidget more, pace or walk when on the phone, stand while watching tv or walk in place.

You might laugh at the idea but by doing these little things add up and you’ll be surprised at how much easier you maintain your weight or loss it faster.

Let’s face social media isn’t going anywhere. And honestly because of Instagram alone I feel more people are stepping into the fitness and health & wellness space. Which is a WIN more people should be taking care of their health because truly HEALTH IS TRUE WEALTH.

But don’t lose sight of why you’re doing it and who you’re doing it for. Don’t let the celebrities, models, and influencers you look up that inspired you to start your Health & Wellness journey become a toxic relationship. Allow them to get you inspired and that’s it. And do what they did which was find what worked for THEMSELVES.

With the holidays approaching a lot of us can be already feeling the pressure and anxiety that comes with it. Especially for those that are trying to stick to there new health & fitness habits.

Often we break our new habits because we don’t want to be “that person” at the party killing the mood or we don’t want to feel left out.

So flip the script with this easy and fun way to burn off those extra calories during the holidays and get your friends, family, and co-workers involved.

Ask them to go on a post holiday meal walk or challenge someone to a friendly competition of squats, push ups, etc.

I promise you it’ll have you bonding better and your family and friends will be happy you gave them a chance to support you in your health & fitness goals by including them.

The holiday season is responsible for 51% of Annual Weight Gain here in the USA. That means what we choose to do these next 6-8 weeks when it comes to our health, wellness, and fitness goals can set us up for Success in 2020 or Disappointment.

One of my favorite ways of staying on track for my goals that’s helped all my clients is a Tip (deliberately creating your plate)

When at your party grab your plate and fill it with 50-60% vegetables that you enjoy, 20-30% of your favorite protein, 5-10% of a healthy fat.

Avoid liquid calories as much as possible and still with water as your beverage. If you do this successful reward yourself with a small piece of desert. Remember moderation is key.

If you want 2nds repeat this process but try to wait and allow your food to hit your stomach and brain first so you’ll know how full you actually are.

Weight Loss and Obesity is more complicated than simply saying things like “Move more Eat Less” or “ Calories in vs Calories out”.

Now on the science of weight loss Yes it’s all about being in a CALORIC DEFICIT. And too many professionals are only focusing on this one point. Yes it’s very important but in my opinion we should be putting more attention on talking about what will really make a difference.

By delivering and driving home a message people can connect with. And that’s Successful Weight loss has everything to do with your HABITS & BEHAVIORS around food. Negative Habits leads to negative actions. If we fix those then we fix the issue of weight gain or weight loss at its core.

Weight loss doesn’t have the be complicated. At the end of the day it will always come down to being in a caloric deficit.

Try drinking a cup of water before each of your meals. I know most of us naturally eat til we are full because we’ve been thought to do that since we were kids.
This way you’ll reach fullness faster and hopeful eat fewer calories each meal.

Shout out to for promoting lifting with your ego! And doing it for the GRAM!

Honestly I’m all for motivation and wanting kids, adults, and basically everyone to get into strength training and lifting weights but this S**T RIGHT HERE MAKES ME SICK!

The form is horrible on all these lifts... Like honesty ask yourself should this be promoted and shared on their massive platform so other people can try and make it on to their Snapchat feed?

I’m sure I’m get a lot of people disagreeing with me but what’s the point of doing this if you’re only setting yourself up for injury and disappoint down the road?

The way we view “fitness” and the industry needs to change! At this point it’s becoming just another form of entertainment rather then for HEALTH & WELLNESS!

Often many of my clients ask what’s the best rep range and sets for building muscles?

The answer... THEY ALL BUILD MUSCLE. What’s more important then your sets and reps is TOTAL VOULME of weight lifted for what ever muscle group you’re trying to build muscle for.

So if you’ve hit a plateau do you know how much volume you’re doing per week and per muscle group? Often this #1 mistake guys make and that’s why the gains have either stopped or slowed.

The best form of resistance training will always be in my opinion..

Strength training also known as weight training. One of the goals of resistance training especially if you want to transform your body has to be increasing lean muscle tissue. The benefits of doing that are better then any other for the goal of transforming your body.

If you’re a beginner HIRE A PROFESSIONAL to teach you. The investment of 2-3 sessions is totally worth it. Learn how to use equipment and learn how to properly do movements with load and you’ll be on the way to results in no time.

If you’re more advance follow A PROGRAM. Don’t just go into the gym and do random workouts. Programs are designed for a goal/outcome. Random workouts are based off burning calories which in the end just like doing cardio to burn calories is ineffective.

Resistance Training to sum it up simply is Strength Training. There are many forms of resistance training like Weight, Strength, Body Weight, Yoga, Pilates and more but it usually involves placing a stress on the body with or without equipment that the body has to resist and overcome.

By doing so we hope to force the body to adapt to the stress by getting stronger and also building muscle fibers so the stress becomes easier to handle in the future.

Doing strength training is the most studied and researched for getting results for fat loss and body composition changes.

The best diet for losing body fat and building muscles is a HIGH PROTEIN diet. You should be consuming anywhere from 1.6-2g of protein Per bodyweight. My goal is to make fitness simple and easy to understand.

Remember this is for optimal body composition changes! This might not necessarily be healthy. If you want enhance your fat loss and transform your body this is what I would recommend.

Important note! You must still be in a caloric deficit 1ST! This isn’t a excuse to over consume calories.

Unlike other PTs & Coaches I don’t get a kick out of arguing about studies and etc... I’ve been doing this for 14 years and I know what works for my clients when it comes to transforming their bodies.

My Journey

Hi my name is Coach Farrice! For the last 14 years I’ve been a certified Personal Trainer and Health & Welnness Coach.

During my freshman year of HS I was ruthlessly bullied by the jocks and popular kids everyday. Because of this for years after I struggled with crippling depression and develop paralyzing social anxiety. I went from being a outgoing fun loving kid to a introverted mute that always felt alone, worthless and weak. I even attempted to take my own life because I just wanted the torturing to stop.

Lucky I wasn’t successful and I ended up getting help. But I ended up being treated like most people suffering from depression, being put on a random assortment of antidepressants that barely help. I hated the way i felt on them because it made me feel like a emotionless numb zombie. But at least I sometimes didn’t feel depressed..

It wasn’t until I discovered the amazing benefits of fitness and working out did my life make a 180. I found out that if I strengthen my body that it also improved my mental health. I started to do more research on the effects of working out on depression and anxiety. I learned that if you ate certain foods and made certain lifestyle changes that it was more effective then being on prescription medicines. Ever since then I’ve been able to return to being the Farrice I always loved being. My life has improved in all areas now personal, professional and romantically. “My mission is to help other overcome depression and mental health issues 1 rep at a TIME!”
