Arkansas Cardiology, in partnership with Baptist Health Heart Institute, is proud to present the 2026 Fitness Trainer Challenge, happening April 2026. This statewide competition is designed to identify the most aerobically fit trainers using VOβ Max testing through Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing (CPET) β the clinical gold standard for measuring cardiovascular performance.

Open to certified fitness trainers across Arkansas, including those from:

β’ Cycling clubs
β’ Triathlon clubs
β’ Fitness centers

Complimentary CPET testing for certified trainers

Bike or treadmill testing in a clinical environment

Objective performance data you can use professionally

Our 2025 Fitness Trainer Challenge is complete!
Thanks to all of our participants this year. You were all very impressive. Central Arkansas is lucky to have such a dedicated group of fitness professionals.
Our 2025 most fit trainer is.... Emily Wilson!
Emily is a member of the Fitness Professionals Hall of Fame Board and an instructor at the LR Athletic Clubs. She had a VO2 Max of 45.7, barely beating out Melody Massengale of 10 Fitness at 45.2.
The Fitness Professionals Hall of Fame, LR Athletic Clubs, 10 Fitness, and Hot Springs were all well represented.
Derek McCormick of Hot Springs had a VO2 Max of 40.9 but led all in age-adjusted percentage at 194%
