Great day of games yesterday! The RYA Lady Hawks 10U is going into today's Gold Bracket as the #2 seed!

The Lady Hawks went 2-0 in pool play, winning 12-3 in a dominant performance, and came from behind to win 6-1 in the late game.

The girls put up 11 hits, including a home run from Bella and doubles from Trinity and Kenzie! They had a total of 32 stolen bases as a team, including a few great steals of home!

Bella recorded 5 strikeouts in game 2 after Trinity started us off with 4 strikeouts in the early matchup. The girls combined to face just 21 batters between the two ganes and worked out of some tight spots to keep their opponents from capitalizing on some baserunners.

Amelia earned an early game MVP for a legging out an infield single and Annie picked up the MVP from the late game after some great steals including a slide at home to put the girls on the board!

It was a great set of games, and they're back in action today at 10:20!

Don't miss out - tryouts are coming up in July!

The RYA Lady Hawks 10U team will be playing in the 10U Advanced league with DFW Mid-Cities Interlock this fall for a competitive advanced rec league, followed by an end-of-season tournament and 3+ All-Stars tournaments in November. This guarantees 20+ games during the fall season, lots of opportunities for the girls to learn, and plenty of playing time.

All positions are considered open and two different tryouts dates are posted. Prospective players need only attend one tryout, but are welcome to attend both tryouts if you want. Signup for the FREE tryouts on the Google Form on the comments.

The RYA Lady Hawks put up quite the fight this weekend despite some high temperatures this afternoon and then storms canceling bracket play this evening.

Kennedy had a great line drive catch before teeing off with a triple in game one, later recording 2 strikeouts at pitcher. Trinity recorded 3 strikeouts as a pitcher, with 2 RBIs and a single batting. Julianna added a single and Kenzie doubled as well, scoring twice. Olivia led the team in stolen bases at 5, scoring twice today also. The team tallied a total of 24 stolen bases between the two games.

Hoping the rain holds off and the girls can get some more games in next weekend!

These girls had a number of highlights this weekend despite some tough games, but this was definitely one of the more exciting segments for the team.

During their second game, they came back from down 11, scored six straight runs, and had themselves a 3-pitch inning in the third defensively. Trinity threw just three pitches, which all led to balls put in play and great defensive outs. It started with a deep fly ball and out to Cora in CF, followed by a popout to Olivia at 1B, and then a groundout to Kennedy at 3B. The whole half-inning lasted less than 90 seconds.

Although it was a long day on Saturday with four games, the girls made a number of great plays defensively throughout the day. Great work to these girls and we're looking forward to entering the next stretch of the season!

Shoutout to our MVPs from this past weekend's Angels 4 Autism Tournament - Preslee, Bella, Kenzie, and Julianna!

Preslee had an RBI double and a defensive out, Bella pitched 7.2 innings and recorded 18 strikeouts, Kenzie had an RBI single and later stole home, and Julianna had a pair of singles, an RBI, and two assists playing shortstop! All 11 girls played hard this weekend and some great defensive plays were made all around, while they recorded 8 hits as a team and reached base safely 16 times on offense. Sawyer, Bella, Preslee, Kenzie, and Amelia all recorded RBIs and 7 girls came across to score during the tournament.

We only got three games in on Saturday before rain cancelled Sunday's bracket games, but girls showed a lot of life and improved a ton. Hopefully rain clears up and they'll have tournaments continue next weekend.

Sawyer played great at 1B in game two, making multiple catches for outs and worked her way on base with a stolen base in her one plate appearance!
