CHILDREN'S BOOK REVIEW:
_A Cat Named Tim_ by John Martz is a delightful comic picture book that tells the short stories of six friends that find themselves in absurd situations. This practically wordless collection of short episodes about little critters range from ironic to downright hilarious. Don't overlook this book in your pursuit of reading levels and moral lessons for your kids. There is a lot to be said for Martz's subtle observations of everyday ironies.

Children are confronted with the unexpected every day and the surprise, disappointment, and chagrin that the little critters experience in _A Cat Named Tim_ will be familiar to them. I'd wager that the grown-up favorite will be the last observation about bus schedules. Am I wrong?
