Norwood Post 343 Jr legion season came to an end this past weekend at state. We played two hard fought games and unfortunately lost both.
With that being said I will say the season was a success. We did make it to the final 8 teams to be playing for the year. That is not and easy task.
I want to thank all the people who helped make this season fun and successful.
I will start with the players. Those boys played hard all season and had lots of fun on and off the field. That is what they will remember most. But also thank you for being respectful and kind to all umpires, fans and opponents throughout the season. I received several compliments from umpires and fans about this.
Parents next. Thank you for doing all the little things we all take for granted, such as washing uniforms, or not because we all know you shouldn’t wash the wins out of them. Thank you for showing up and cheering loud for our team and supporting the coaches.
A special thank you to Stephanie Eskina Franck for taking care of announcing, scoreboard, walk up songs, and national anthem.
I want to thank the Norwood Indians Baseball and Young America Cardinals Baseball for allowing us to play on their beautiful ballparks. I also want to thank Jimmy (Norwood), Dewey (YA) and their crews for frying burgers and keeping our fans fed.
Thank you to Jason Pauly and Ben Schefers for helping with coaching duties this year. Jason and I have been doing this together for about 7 years now. This was Ben’s first year and he has so much baseball knowledge to share.
Thank you to Isabella Miller for keeping the game changer for us all season. It helps us keep accurate stats and I know the fans who could not attend really enjoy being able to follow along.
And finally I want to thank the American Legion Edward Born Post 343 in Norwood Young America, MN for their support of our Legion Baseball Program.
See you next year!!
