It's official: We Won!
The election committee certified the results of the vote today.
(the count yesterday went too long and had to finish today)
The result was 175-151.
Thank you to all who supported me through this. Now the real work is ahead of us, making our local strong and getting ready for the challenges that lay ahead.

As I attend the vote count this morning, I am reflecting on the past few months and appreciating all the experiences and interactions I've had with you all. This has been quite a ride and I want to thank all of you who supported me as we strive for change in our union.
Win lose or draw, we managed to put the issues on the table and made it known that there is a need for change.

The ballots are out.... It's time to remind our coworkers to vote!
Fast turn around time, so vote early! The counting happens Dec. 15.
The latest update from the election committee is that the ballots are delayed.
They were going to be sent out friday but were not ready on time. They will now be mailed Monday. The collection and count will happen Dec. 15.
Please vote early and encourage your friends to vote. Change won't happen without your vote.
The election committee has announced that there will be a run-off for the President, as well as 2 other run-offs for other positions. New Ballots will be sent out this Friday, Nov. 21. The ballots will be picked up and counted on Friday, Dec. 12.
This is a fast turn around, so please vote as soon as you receive the ballot. Since only 301 votes were received in the first round, we should be able to get a better turn out the second time around.
Please encourage your friends to vote. If everyone who voted gets one more person to vote, we can get the change we're looking for in short order.

We were told the contest for President resulted in a tie vote (147-147). This is not true. In fact, some votes were not counted! There were too many ballots to fit in the P.O. box and the overflow was not picked up, resulting in dozens if not hundreds of votes going uncounted. They should pick up the remaining ballots and counts the votes! Respect the members!
