🌊Yesterday our Studio 55 members had a blast at our Seasonal Celebration: Under the Sea! Members were able to enjoy delicious lasagna, created their own seashell necklaces, participated in a game of trivia and played bingo 🐬

Studio 55 is located at the Oakley Recreation Center, 1250 O’Hara Avenue. Aging adults 55+ who join Studio 55 enjoy social space as well as daily activities including pickleball, exercise, self-defense, dancing, cooking classes and more.

Let’s get cooking! Kids in the Kitchen is an interactive class that gives kids the chance to chop, mix, measure, and create real meals using fresh, healthy ingredients. Each session introduces basic kitchen skills, simple nutrition concepts, and plenty of tasting. Kids will gain confidence, try new flavors, and have fun working together to make something delicious from start to finish. Perfect for young chefs who love to help in the kitchen—or want to start!

For ages 7-17 , this class takes place Wednesdays beginning October 7 through October 21 at the Oakley Recreation Center. A Foundations class to help new cooks learn the basics will take place 2:00pm-3:00pm and regular classes will take place 3:45pm-4:45pm or 5:30pm - 6:30pm. Registration is available online at www.oakleyca.gov/RecRegistration or in person at the Oakley Recreation Center.

Calling ALL guardians & parents! Registration for our next Friday Night Out: Monster Mash is OPEN ✅

At the Friday Night Out program children are dropped off to experience a night of non-stop fun featuring pre-Halloween dance party, games, crafts and a movie. Children are fed a pizza dinner and snacks 🍕 Each child should wear their favorite pajamas or Halloween costume and bring a sleeping bag and pillow.

Our upcoming date is Friday, October 30th from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Oakley Recreation Center - have a night out on the town; you deserve it! 🌉

Show off your Halloween spirit with spider webs, skeletons and tombstones and join the annual Hometown Halloween Decorating Contest! The contest is open to any home within the City of Oakley and the winner will receive an Ace Hardware gift card and a yard sign to display on Halloween.

Oakley, we had a great time with you at our April event, Pups in the Park, that we decided to bring it back in October as Howl-O-Ween!🐾

Join us on Wednesday, October 7th from 4pm to 6pm at Koda Dog Park during your nightly walk with your furry friends 🐶 The evening will consist of giveaways for the first 50 dogs, a costume contest, and more! The Oakley Youth Advisory Council will also be hosting a fundraiser for local adoption agency, JoyBound Pets.

This Friday, September 25th, we'll be playing Sonic 3! 🍿🎬🌙
Grab your blankets and picnic baskets to join us at Civic Center Park for a fun-filled evening for the family.

Before the movie starts, play themed trivia and challenges, giant Jenga, corn hole, and more. You may even win a special prize! The fun will begin at 6:00pm at Civic Center Plaza, the movie will begin at dark. Popcorn and soda will be available with donations collected by the Oakley Youth Advisory Council.

For the month of October, our Friday Night Bites in partnership with Foodie Crew includes a concert featuring The Floorshakers🎶 Did you know The Floorshakers recently won the 2026 Best Local Band award for Diablo Magazine? Come dance the night away at our final concert of the season! ⭐

The food trucks and the live music will be on site from 5 – 9pm at Civic Center Plaza, 3231 Main Street in Oakley.

Guests may bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy their meal and concert in the park. No outside alcohol is permitted.

Join us TODAY from 11am to 4pm for our annual Heart of Oakley. The festival will take place within Civic Center Plaza and on Main Street from Norcross to Vintage Parkway.

We have something for everyone: 50+ craft vendors and non-profits organizations, a trackless train and mini golf for kids, 10+ food vendors offering delicious cuisine, the Fast Times Band rocking out on stage, and a beer garden hosted by the East County All Star Fundraising🌳

We can't wait to see you there 😃
