Bike month is almost over, but there are a few events remaining to enjoy. Edmond is having a historic tour tomorrow night as well as several events at Arcadia Lake Friday and Saturday. Durant’s Rotary club is hosting their annual Magnolia ride on Saturday. Enjoy the cooler riding weather before the heat sets in this summer.

The Ride of Silence in Stillwater was a huge success. In spite of a cool evening, we had 45 riders participate. The short ride began with the sound of a bag pipe playing Amazing Grace. Thanks to Cynthia Gedra, Kevin Mussett, and Udaya DeSilva who helped make this happen.

Started off this fine morning attending Bike To Work in downtown OKC. Then headed down to Durant to help with their bike rodeo tomorrow morning. Durant has a new urban trail near SE Oklahoma State called Crooked Smile, part concrete, part small gravel, tree’d, grassland, babbling brook, and wildflowers. A short but pleasant respite from driving.

We had a wonderful time in McAlester on Saturday talking with trail users about being visible while walking or riding a bike. McAlester’s Trails Day was a kickoff to Bike Month with many activities throughout Oklahoma to follow. Up this weekend are two OKC community rides and Tulsa Tough on Saturday, then the Bikefest on Sunday. For more info, go to
