Congratulations to our PRIME Championship competitors! Golden Dragon ATA took 9 competitors down to Lawrence, KS and brought home 33 medals.

🥇- 22

🥈- 7

🥉- 4

The medal count is fun, but there were even better things.

Growth mindset - A competitor saying, “I learned something for next time.”

Courage - A competitor stepping out of a comfort zone to try something new.

Respect - Competitors who were a credit to our school throughout the day.

Service - Competitors who spent 8-9 hours judging.

Confidence.

The picture on the left is Ainsley’s first tournament. She is a white belt, new to training as well as competing. Her face looks worried. She is making herself as small as possible and pushing herself into her sister’s legs.

Look at her posture in the second picture. Comfortable in her abilities. Watchful, but relaxed. Confident in herself.

The change didn’t happen overnight. Confidence comes from competence. Competence comes from practicing and mastering skills. Class by class, belt by belt, tournament by tournament.
