Last night marked the end of our season.

This team battled through 30 games to a phenomenal 25-4-1 record. Although losing last night wasn’t how we hoped to finish, it reminded us that the puck doesn’t always bounce your way — just like life.

The biggest takeaway from the night — something coaches, parents, and players can all hold their heads high about — had nothing to do with stats, a goal, or a save. It was the message delivered during 13 seconds of silence… the loudest moment of the night.

Daegan Page, a Westside Warrior alumnus and State Champion who wore #13, heroically gave his life on August 26, 2021 in Kabul, Afghanistan while serving in the United States Marine Corps. Since then, Head Coach Tom Shaffer and his teams have honored Daegan before every game by taking a knee and observing 13 seconds of silence.

Last night, Lincoln Capitals East approached our team and asked to join us in honoring Daegan. It was a privilege to share center ice in a moment that united two teams from different associations, showing everyone in attendance what truly matters — honoring those who sacrificed their lives so we are free to play the game we love… the game Daegan loved.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our coaches, players, families, fans, and the Lincoln Capitals East organization.

Thank you all for honoring what matters most — the bigger things in life. Yet another reminder of why hockey is such a great sport for our young men and women.
