USDA is proposing to fully repeal the Roadless Rule, putting 45 million+ acres of national forest lands at risk. That means more logging, road-building, and mining in places we rely on for clean water, biodiversity, economic vitality, and outdoor access.

Perk and Dave Perkins built Orvis Adventures from the ground up. As proud members of the family that has owned and operated Orvis for three generations, they were relentless in their search for guides, outfitters, and lodges that chased fly fishing and wingshooting as hard as their family did.

This summer they returned to the beginning. Three Rivers Ranch — one of the first handful of endorsed partners, and a reflection on the wild run to 300+ partners today.

But if you know Perk and Dave, they weren’t there just to reminisce.

They were up at 4am to see if they could move the Henry’s Fork’s finest, throwing streamers to make it happen.

This episode reflects exactly the network of partners they dreamed up; equal parts polish and grit.

The quail at Guitar Ranch aren’t there by luck. Phil Guitar manages his cattle rotations deliberately — because overgrazing is the enemy of wild quail. By protecting the native broomweed and brush that drive habitat diversity, he’s built something many working Texas cattle ranches have lost.

The pride he takes in that land and the pride he takes in hosting hunters are one and the same.
