When in a marginalized community, it's imperative that we don't fight haters within it because they aren't the problem. Their conditioning is ๐ค๐พ
I'm still working on my approach to people within the black community with perspectives I see as harmful, but the key is to stay grounded, stay aligned, & stay in community โจ๏ธ
A hater can't shake you when your wellness is solid ๐

Mental fitness is JUST AS if not even MORESO important than physical fitness. Consider everytime you experience an adverse emotion a workout. We should all be reaching to be just as strong mentally as we can be physically.
How? Good question.
Well, you start by learning yourself. Learning what your triggers are. Practice breathing before responding, whatever happened, can wait for you to gather yourself.
Second step is to acknowledge when you feel yourself slipping. The more you recognize it, the better you get at catching yourself.
It takes a lot of getting used to, and you will get discouraged because old habits die hard, but eventually, you'll get to a point where it's second nature.
Good luck on the journey and remember to go easy on yourself and give yourself lots of grace. I'm rooting for you!

How often do you remind yourself of your need for balance? To return to center? To maintain equilibrium?

How do you remain balanced and, when knocked off kilter, return to that state of balance?
