Your Forehand Might Not Need More Power. It Might Need More SPACE.

Most players think a powerful forehand comes from:

“Swing harder.”

“Use more wrist.”

“Create more racket lag.”

But watch high-level players closely…

They don’t rush the racket to the ball.

They create space so the racket can accelerate naturally.

When you get too close to the ball:

❌ Your arm gets jammed
❌ Your swing gets shorter
❌ Your contact point gets inconsistent
❌ You lose racket-head speed
❌ You start using your wrist and arm to save the shot

And then you wonder why your forehand feels great in practice…

…but breaks down when you’re under pressure.

One of the biggest differences between a 3.0–3.5 forehand and a high-level forehand is often what happens before contact.

Good spacing gives you time.

Time gives you options.

And good timing allows the kinetic chain to work.

So instead of asking:

“How do I swing harder?”

Start asking:

“Am I giving myself enough space to swing correctly?”

If your forehand feels inconsistent, cramped, or powerful one day and weak the next, your spacing and timing might be the missing piece.
