Tests Reveal More W**d Killer Than Some Vitamins in Kids’ Cereals Tests found more of the w**d killer glyphosate than of some vitamins in samples of oat-based breakfast cereals marketed to children, an Environmental Working Group analysis shows.

It's sad to see these numbers. Conventional agriculture is failing us as the pesticide war continues to escalate. Only 78% of organic samples tested were 100% clean, likely due to low-level contamination from conventional farms. Those of us that want and pay for clean food can't even get truly clean food because the addicted chemical farmers keep using more and more, polluting our soil, water and air.

GMO Arctic apples are being shipped around the country now, with 1,400 acres being grown in Washington State. They're sold as cut fruit, in the refrigerator case, and to food service promoted as a children's snack. The apples were created with genetic engineering to turn off the gene that makes them turn brown, so you won't be able to tell if they're rotten. And the nutritional value will decline as it degrades without obvious signs. Studies show that genetic engineering can cause off target and unintended changes in the chemistry of the food - yet there has been no safety testing. Scientists say that turning off the browning gene reduces the apples' natural ability to repel pests - so they could be grown with more pesticides. WTH. Conventional apples already contain, on average, about 5 pesticides/apple.

If you're looking for apples that are slow to brown, use a little lemon juice or look for organic Opal apples, which are Non-GMO Project Verified and naturally slow to brown. If it looks like a duck, it walks like a duck and it quacks like a duck.... it might not be a duck. We don't need GMO apples. Be well.
