❔WHICH WORKSHOP LEVEL IS RIGHT FOR YOU? ❔

We’re offering workshops at three different levels this year so you can get quality instruction tailored to your skill level and goals 📈

Here’s a breakdown of each level so you know what to expect

Level 2
✨ SOPHOMORE ✨
Newcomer/Open

“Building Foundations”

Learn the framework that makes west coast swing unique among other dances. Then, get ready to level up your technique to have better social and competitive dances.

❓Is it right for you?❓

You’ve been dancing WCS for at least 3 months and are very comfortable with all of the basic patterns and timing. The instructors will NOT be reviewing these and will assume competency in them. It is likely that they will use basics to teach concepts and technique and there will be plenty of practice within.

Level 3
🌟 JUNIOR 🌟
Novice+

“Musicality & Variations”

Ready to take your dancing up a notch? Learn how to interpret music and upgrade your basics to stand out on the dance floor.

❓Is it right for you?❓

You’ve been dancing WCS for several years and have some experience competing at the novice level (or equivalent). Recommended to have at least 1 novice point.

Level 4
💫 SENIOR 💫
Intermediate/Advanced/All-Star

“Creativity & Connection”

Explore a fuller range of individual and partner movement. Enhance your connection and unlock new possibilities to create with your dance partners.

❓Is it right for you?❓

This level strongly recommends at least one point in intermediate and will be working on high level and physically challenging concepts / technique / patterns.

For Freshmen (absolute beginners), we have weekly classes at and where you can learn your basics and get ready to join us on the dance floor! 🕺🏻

We’ll be pairing 8 couples during the Friday social for the ultimate dance showdown. You and a random parter will face off against another couple — with a twist challenge added. The top 3 couples make it to court… and get the chance to compete for prom royalty 👑

‼️ Competition will be capped at 8 leaders and 8 followers — first come first serve! Sign-ups open at 7:45pm at Wepa Dance Studio ‼️

💐 PROM ROYALTY JACK & JILL 💐

📍 The Wedding Barn
🥂 Cocktail hour 5:30pm
🚪 Doors open 6:30
⏰ Competition begins 7:30pm

Our 6 finalists from Friday’s prelims will compete for prom royalty status — only this time, they’ll be paired up with one of our pros. Our royal court will dance it out in spotlight-style contests, to be judged by our VIP attendees for the ULTIMATE prize: bragging rights (and maybe a crown!)

4. Keep going through (skipping categories you’ve completed) until you have your final fortune!
