It’s a pretty special day!
💜⚽🥎 National Women & Girls in Sports Day 🥎⚽💜
At National Recreation and Park Association, the message is simple and powerful: Get Her in the Game.
And here at MCRF, we’re proud to do our part every single day.
Girls who play sports build confidence, leadership skills, resilience, friendships, and lifelong healthy habits. But even today, girls still have fewer opportunities to participate than boys. That’s where all of us — parks, parents, coaches, and volunteers — step in.
✨ We’re doing our part to get her in the game. Parents, will you?
Park and recreation facilities, families, and coaches all play a role in helping getting more girls involved and setting them up for success later in life.
👉 Learn about local opportunities to play: Oskaloosa Little League Information Mahaska County Soccer Club
✨ Be the role model who breaks the barrier.
You can make a difference by coaching, mentoring, or volunteering with youth sports.
From softball and soccer to trail programs and multi-generational recreation, we’re committed to creating spaces where every girl feels welcome, supported, and strong. Let’s show our girls they belong on every field. 💪

A few clarifying items for the upcoming LL season.
You DO NOT need to have the school fill out any documentation to play. This is only needed should your child be selected and participate in Minor or Major All-Stars.
Typical age divisions:
4-6 year olds, Tball
7-8 year olds, Rookies
9-10 year olds, Minors
11-12 year olds, Majors
See age charts to determine LL age for your child. If determining if your 4 year old is ready for Tball please take into consideration their development level, safety and quality of play. You WILL BE playing against 6 year olds.
