Hopefully, your summer has been a blast! As school rolls back into session next month, the KC Gladiators Lacrosse Club is looking to add players to its fall roster.

If your son is interested in taking his game to the next level, message Matt Pomianek to get connected with the team. It would be fantastic to have solid representation from STA on the team. Summer ball was a lot of fun, and joining the Gladiators would be a great way to build momentum heading into the winter and the official spring season. Feel free to reach out to Matt with any questions.

Parker Cussigh

If you ask Parker what his proudest lacrosse achievement is, he won’t tell you that it’s making the All-Metro team. Rather, Parker’s proudest lacrosse achievement is getting all his friends to play lacrosse. It’s this attitude that propelled Parker to be one of our captains this season, and a huge reason why we will miss him next season.

His time on the lacrosse team at STA wasn’t always smooth sailing. Parker’s freshman year, we didn’t have enough players for a JV team, so he had to settle for playing in 5th quarters. Sophomore season, he took a ball to the back of the neck that kept him out for several weeks. Then, on the last practice of the season, he fell and broke his wrist. It was an injury that would eventually cause him to sit out the entirety of his junior season. ALL OF THAT… and he still came back, ready to work, loving the game, and excited to bring his friends along with him.

Parker’s contributions to our program transcend far beyond statistics and we can confidently say, he left the program better than he found it. Thank you, Parker, for your hard work, selflessness, and tenacity.

Parker and the rest of the All-Metro players will be honored tonight, before the LAKC Championship, at 6:45 PM at Rockhurst High School.

While it might not be a flashy game day post with a picture of all our seniors, the hard hat represents our entire senior class. It symbolizes our core values: Hard Work, Selflessness, and Tenacity. Our seniors, along with the rest of the team, bring a blue collar, workman like mentality to everything we do. The messaging has been clear for the entire time that they’ve been in our program: leave this place better than you found it. Mission accomplished.

Everyone, please join us tonight as we celebrate our seniors at 6:30, varsity game to follow at 7:00.
