V.E.T. Board members visited The Bridges Program today to learn more about their program. I can personally say this was an incredible experience and the mental health work being done with horses is amazing! They work with people of all ages, veterans and all types of PTSD. Highly recommend this type of therapy.❤️

This evening V.E.T(Veterans Empowered Together) honored the veterans that were featured this past year on their ‘Enlisted: Songs from a Veteran’ program. Each song is a personal story of a veteran’s life and written by very talented songwriters and musicians. If you haven’t listened check it out wherever you listen to music (I listen on Spotify). Two people on this photo are 101 years old! One is a veteran, the other a spouse of a veteran (Jenny Belle - mentioned in this song). It was very special listening to their stories behind the songs. ❤️

Memorial Day-To those we’ve lost... we remember 😞🇺🇸 What does this picture represent?
The r***e is affixed with a bayonet and inverted, signifying that the Soldier went down fighting. The boots signify the Soldier’s last march onto the battlefield. Dog tags are imprinted with the Soldier’s name and hung from the r***e so their identity will never be forgotten. The helmet is placed atop the r***e representing what the Soldier stood for and signifying that their battle is now over. The Battlefield Cross is a sacred symbol amongst military members. Since a funeral is typically not possible during wartime, these symbols serve as a rallying point where surviving members of a unit can mourn and remember their fallen comrades. This Memorial Day, reach out to the Veterans that you know and give them a simple message: “We Remember.” We remember our country’s fallen, your brothers and sisters, and we appreciate and honor their sacrifice.
