PYTHIOSIS - I lost my lab from this unknown disease almost 20 years ago. What I learned next made me create a website with vital information on this disease.

In 2006 I was introduced to Bob Glass. Here is what he says about the disease,

"I’ve been working on Pythium for 35 years; almost half my life. It’s gone from diagnosing infection in just 4 horses on a South Texas ranch to several hundred in horses and near a thousand in dogs….every year. Just last week we had 40 new cases. I have learned that September to December is when we see the largest number of new cases. Check your pets regularly and spread the word to family and friends to watch for skin infections that won’t heal and persistent vomiting/diarrhea/weight loss. Let’s make this the year that the number of deaths go down rather than up."
