When I announced I was starting Blessed Bike Shop and the Blessed Bank to take donations to repair or gift bikes to kids and adults in need, the very first person who donated two kids' bikes and volunteered his free time to help with repairs was my childhood friend, Justin!

We are blessed to know Justin! He is an awesome friend, brother, son, and uncle. He loves cooking, playing bass guitar, making art and spending time with his family. It's always heartwarming to see the activities they do together and how much he means to all of us!

Unfortunately, a few weeks ago, Justin's mom found him unconscious with several massive blows to the head. It was incredibly scary, and we thought we might lose him. We have been blessed, and Justin is very strong. He is making progress and is on the road to recovery. The brain injuries were so severe that this could be a long, tough journey for him and his family.

His family and friends are here to help and support him on his road to recovery! Some close family members have taken time off work to be with him during his time of need.

Blessed Bike Shop's core mission includes the Blessed Bank, a program utilizing donated bicycles, parts, and funds to provide or repair bicycles for underprivileged children and adults needing reliable transportation to work.

Last year's Christmas event and program was a success, resulting in a truckload of bikes for the kids!

In my experience, bicycle assembly by retail stores is often subpar. Assembly staff, frequently lacking formal mechanical training, prioritize speed over precision due to performance-based compensation structures. This results in hastily assembled bicycles.

Factory-assembled bicycles often suffer from the same issue, with components quickly attached without proper adjustment. Unfortunately, many consumers lack the expertise to rectify these shortcomings.

Commonly observed deficiencies include improperly inflated tires (sometimes with bulging inner tubes), inadequately adjusted or incorrectly installed brakes, and parts installed backward, loosely fitted, or improperly adjusted. Additionally, dry or improperly tensioned chains and bearings, misaligned handlebars, untrue wheels, and loose spokes are frequently encountered.
