Another training track in the books! This one was our longest yet, and I let it sit for about 5 hours before turning the pups loose on it.
Rune – I was really impressed with her today. She drifted off the track a couple of times, but she worked it out, corrected herself, and finished strong.
Tallie – We’re still struggling a bit. 😂 She’s making progress though, so we’ll stick with shorter tracks for a little while longer and keep building her confidence.
Beans – Well… he’s Beans. 🤦🏼♀️😂 The free runner of the bunch, but somehow he still manages to find the deer on every single mock track.
One step at a time. Watching each dog learn and improve in their own way has been the best part of this journey.

Meet the Team: The Ridgeback Rookie
Last but not least, meet the young Ridgeback stepping into a job written in her bones. This is Tallie!
She’s still a pup, sure — legs too long, attitude too big, and a stubborn streak a mile wide — but that’s the Ridgeback way.
She moves quiet, thinks fast, and hits the trail with that trademark Ridgeback grit — head low, ridge up, eyes locked on the work.
She’s learning the craft one blood drop, one misstep, one victory at a time.
She’s not finished yet, and you may see her running with Beans for now!
But with a Ridgeback heart beating in her chest, she’s well on her way.
This is Rune’s first solo training track. To be only 6 months old, I’m very happy with her progress. You can see she comes off the track a few times, but finds her way back very easily. When she comes up on the deer she is a little reluctant, but one small praise and she went right back to it. Again, she’s only 6 months old! I can’t wait to see what her future holds!
