Here’s something that gets lost way too often in travel softball:

College coaches are not recruiting your team’s win-loss record.

-They are not making recruiting decisions based on the stats you accumulated at 12U or 14U.
-Many aren’t putting a ton of weight into your high school stats either — because a stat line doesn’t tell them the strength of the competition you faced, the situations you were put in, or even how consistently the data was recorded.

So what ARE they watching?

They’re watching YOU.

-Can you adjust when something isn’t working?
-Are you coachable?
-How do you respond after an error or strikeout?
-Can you compete when things get uncomfortable?
-Do you communicate?
-Do you understand the game?
-Do you make the players around you better?
-How do you carry yourself when you think nobody important is watching?
-Are you developing physically, mentally and fundamentally?

And maybe one of the biggest questions:

Are you the same player six months from now, or are you noticeably better?

Winning is fun. Championships are fun. Rings are fun. Go compete for them.

But be careful when chasing rings becomes more important than chasing development.
A trophy from 14U isn’t the end goal.

Being on the “best” team isn’t the end goal.
Having a ridiculous GameChanger stat line isn’t the end goal.

If your goal is to play college softball, then the goal is to become the kind of athlete a college coach believes can develop, adapt, compete and contribute to their program.

Rings collect dust. Development creates opportunities.

Choose the program that develops you.

Choose coaches who challenge you.

Choose competition that exposes what you need to improve.

And choose the path that prepares you for where you’re trying to go — not just the one that gives you something shiny to put in a case or on a shelf.

Due to the inclement weather moving through our area, we have made the decision to cancel tonight's Velocity Fastpitch open workouts. While we know the girls are eager to get on the field, the safety of our athletes and families will always come first.

Please continue to monitor our page for updates regarding future workouts and scheduling changes.

Velocity Fastpitch will be hosting open workouts throughout June and July for all 12U and 14U eligible players.

Workouts will be held every Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 PM–8:00 PM.

Come get extra reps, continue developing your skills, and see what Velocity is all about.

What. A. Weekend. 💙💚🥎

Our Velocity 10U girls came to PLAY!

They battled their way through the tournament undefeated and punched their ticket to the Championship Game. While they came up just short, bringing home a 2nd Place finish, these girls proved they belong with anyone they step on the field against.

Even more impressive? The team they faced in the championship had only allowed ONE run all weekend long... and that run came from our very own Mac! 💪🔥

This team has grown so much throughout the season, and it is showing every time they take the field. Their confidence, hustle, and determination have been incredible to watch.

⚡️ Velocity 18U ⚡️

For a team stepping onto the field together for their very first tournament, these athletes made a statement.

They competed hard all weekend, finishing 2-2, and showed everyone exactly what Velocity softball is about. They played with grit, energy, and intensity from the first pitch to the last out.

This group has talent all over the field, and this weekend was only the beginning. As they continue to build chemistry and gain experience together, watch out—because this team is going to be fun to watch this summer.

To all of our athletes: thank you for representing Velocity with pride, passion, and heart. The wins are great, but watching your growth, confidence, and love for the game is what it's all about.
