Static planks are static!
3 fundamental levels of “stability” increasing in level of neuromuscular demand and functional benefit:
👉Static holds (planks, iso holds, etc)
👉Resisting forces and motion (anti-…, perturbations, etc)
👉Controlling forces and motion (plyos, AXIO, etc)
Your cell phone can have a real strong and strict case, but it really only works as well as the software installed.
The more neurologically-demanding your training the better!

AXIO
Used by MLB, NFL, NHL & NCAA teams to improve performance, accelerate rehab & prevent injury.
AXIO challenges our body in ways many traditional methods cannot- Try this 30 sec AXIO interval!
Here’s what it hits-
✅ Core with transverse plane loading
✅ Shoulder stabiity- serratus ant-lower trap
✅ Cardiovascular conditioning benefit
✅ Neuromuscular timing and control
Here’s why it works-
👉Long sitting position creates base of support from pelvis and diminishes lumbar extensor muscle over-activity and compensation with overhead reach
👉Two-hand AXIO overhead rotation increases moment arm and creates angular resistance that must come from middle of body
👉Requires significant effort and force control that improves, strength, stability and also aerobic conditioning
Check out the free AXIO exercise database for more ideas on how to add this unique training stimulus into your workout program.

Getting up for the weekend!🙌
If you’re not training with an AXIO using both hands or also overhead then your missing out on some major benefits…
👏Using 2 hands to rotate an AXIO requires you to use your middle to “drive it.” This improves integrated core strength and stability for more efficient transfer of ground reaction force.
🙌Reaching out overhead improves upward scapular rotation which increases lower trapezius and serratus anterior recruitment. This is key for overhead throwing and striking athletes.
AXIO supersets are nasty! If you’re not good with being challenged or your feels get hurt easily then don’t bother!😅
👉Do 4-8 BUP + 3-5 AXIO cycles at 90’
x 3 sets
If you lose control of the AXIO, don’t give up - just get it going again and finish your reps!
We’re training the ability to coordinate strength and dynamically stabilize at a high level.
It will get cleaner and smoother if you just do the reps!

AXIO Science Lesson
Ever wonder what the difference is between spinning a weight on the end of a string vs rotating an AXIO?
Simple— It’s Centrifugal vs Centripetal Force. They’re not the same!
Spinning a ball around on the end of a string creates a centrifugal force. It’s easy—very low level resistance with little challenge or coordination to control. The ball has angular momentum - it will rotate easily around repeatedly with little force. Just ~1/5 increase in the force applied doubles the speed of the weight on end of string, so strength benefits are virtually non-existent.
Alternatively, rotating an AXIO hits with much greater resistance and challenge to control. It uses centripetal force and angular resistance— creates ~30x the resistance as the weighted ball on a string, so it will increase strength.
Additionally, if demands high-speed reaction and timing to coordinate.
It’s this combination of resistance and control that maximizes performance and prevents injury.
So if you’re serious about getting stronger and more dynamically stability, in a way that will also carry over functionally then definitely give an a spin!

❗️Why should you train with an AXIO?
Baseball players should use AXIO trainers because they offer comprehensive benefits for arm care and overall athletic performance. AXIO trainers enhance flexibility, range of motion, stability, and strength, which are crucial during warmup, for arm care training, and recovery. They support complete rotator cuff strengthening, dynamic core stability, and improve balance and athleticism. Additionally, AXIO trainers facilitate faster muscle activation, excite the neuromuscular system, improve muscle synergy patterns, and decrease injury risk. They also aid in faster recovery by speeding circulation and minimizing soreness without joint compression.

🌀Centripetal Training— You don’t need to know the science to know it works…
Thanks Mitch Keller
Can you be humbled?
“Recently I got to try out the centripetal force trainer from AXIO | Stability & Performance Training and here is my review.
Personally I’ve dealt quite a bit with shoulder instability, and in many of my videos I’ve talked about the benefits of resisted circular movements to strengthen and stabilize the shoulder.
this training tool puts a different spin on that, as it forces you to maintain a specific rhythm and tempo in order to keep the weight moving in a circle.
The faster you spin at the more resistance it gives you, and even in a matter of seconds you get massive engagement throughout the shoulder and upper body.
There’s a little bit of a learning curve in figuring out how to use it properly, but it doesn’t take very long.
I love using this as part of my warm-up, or towards the end of a workout added in with my accessory work.
Honestly it’s one of those things it’s hard to describe, you really have to feel it to get a sense of how it works.
