Roy Crush, Texas Boys Outdoors took out a police officer and fireman in the First Responders Saltwater Fishing Tournament in Galveston. Texas Roy fished in the open division and won 3rd Place! Thanks to all first responders!

First Responders Saltwater Fishing Tournament with these gentlemen today. Supporting a great cause with great friends!

We got our 5 trout easy, but not much on the size at 14.1 pounds. East wind and dirty water has been pretty tough on Gbay.
There is still time to get in on the First Responders Saltwater Fishing Tournament! We will be donating stringers as door prizes. Get in on a chance to win an LSG stringer EZ Holder combo and support a great cause.
See you there!!!
How about Trophy Buckles for your next tournament? We just made this really cool buckle for Mike Hennessy, a former Texas Blue Marlin record holder!!! You can call me for details 936-435-4203 www.bobbergdesigns.com
OK fishermen , here it is . Finally a fillet knife blade that will clean even the toughest Saltwater fish . If you have ever tried to clean a nice Redfish with one of those other so-called electric fillet knives , no names mentioned , but this pretty much includes all other electric fillet knives that are known for shocking the user as well as bouncing off the hide of the fish, then you know that a better option is needed. Our blade simply chucks up in any sawzall and will now become the best electric fillet knife around. We recommend a portable rechargeable unit that is light and portable , with extra battery for cleaning large amounts of fish. Our blade is made in the USA by Dexter Russel , a 200 year old knife company known for high quality blades. Our blade makes quick work filleting fish or making steaks from the largest catch. Cuts through the bone with little hesitation and has the strength of an industrial power tool. First blades will be ready for sale in 8 to 10 weeks and will be sold out quickly do to the high demand from tackle shops already. Blades come in 8 and 12 inches , put you name on the list now before they are sold out completely.
This precious little green eyed AKC lab pup is ready for the raffle next Wednesday!

Photos from First Responders Saltwater Fishing Tournament's post 06/01/2018

Wanted to thank everyone who came out for this years tournament. After 25 years I think this tournament ran the smoothest of any tournament so far. Thanks to all the volunteers that work behind the scenes to make this tournament run. Without them there is no way this tournament would come together each year. I would try to name them all but would surely forget one.We hosted 97 Teams in the TEAM Division and 67 individual participants in the OPEN Division. So a fare estimate would be approxx. 140 boats in the tournament. I will post more places in each event and more pictures later on this site and our web page. The list that is posted is just the participants who received awards in the tournament.
Also if you did not make it back to the tournament if you would contact me we can make arrangments for you to pick up your tournament shirts for the next couple weeks. You can contact me Stephen Brown at 713-724-9939

www.firstrespondersfishingt6ournament.com

You still have time to register for the First Responders Fishing Tournament May31,2017, Just go to the web site and register and pay entry. We have over 90 boats in the Team division and over 40 in the Open division. On that note just a reminder that if you have guided in the past two years you are eligible for the Open division only. You can have as many on your boat but everyone must be in the open. Also you can use a fish one time in the tourrnament. So everyone please read all the rules again so that there is no confusion on what division you will be fishing.
You must be in line with fish in hand by two o''clock at the Pasadena Convention Center. No exception
I have also attached a rough draft of raffle items that will be avaiable at the tournament. This list is diffirent from the door prizes. Weather is 50% chance of rain but the wind does not look to bad. There should be some great stringers brought in.
Also Joey Ybarra will be at the tournament qaccepting reels to be cleaned or repaired. So if you have a reel that needs attention bring it out and drop it off. Joey will make arrangments to get it returned. So we now will be accepting rods and reels that need repair at the tournament for your convenience.

Thanks to everyone that came out to the First Responders Fishing Tournament. It was a very successful event made possible by all the unselfish volunteers that show up each year without hesitation. Also the great sponsors we have each year that support the first responders and our military. I will be making more post with pictures later but to give you some of the information and stats of the tournament.
We stayed quite a bit longer this year than planned so I will make some adjustments to next years rules. Such as earlier weigh in and possibly some adjustments on the fish weighed in. Me and Epi will discuss things and implement them for next year. So that being said if you have any changes you would like for us to look at please give one of us a call or email.
We had 100 teams sign up for the team event and almost 50 sign up in the open. We fed 450 people by the end of the day. I will post complete standings and pictures on the web site as soon as possible.
And thanks to everyone that sang Happy Birthday to me at the tournament. It sounded like a bunch of sick chickens on the stage. Don’t give up your day jobs but keep fishing. Thanks again.

Good luck to everyone fishing the First Responders Fishing Tournamnet tomorrow. Team event will be competing with 100 other teams. The open divison will be competing against approx. 50 other boats. The competion ov over 400 should be very competitive and some will walk away with money, some with door prizes and some with memories. Although there is money involved this is a fun tournament to give First Responders a day of fishing and meeting up with old friends. That being said please make sure that you have gone over the rules for each event. The open division is a artificial only division No live bait is permitted in the open division. The team event can use artificial or live bait. Allow time for incidentals when returning to weigh in. You must be in line with fish in hand by three o'clock. No exceptions. There will be two weigh stations . One for the team event and one for the open division. I think this will help speed things up. We have a lot of items for door prizes and the raffle so enjoy the time fishing and then come back to airconditioned weigh in. Food and drink will be provided when you get back. If you have any questions or concerns during the tournament feel free to contact me or Epi at anytime.
