Tristan is the Leader of the Pack.
Each week, Wolfpack players/coaches recognize one player who demonstrates effort, perseverance, personal growth, and/or a positive impact on their teammates.
As the season went on we allowed the previous week’s winner to have a greater voice on the selection than the coaches. Our pack believes in developing players so they can reach their full potential on and off the court, and part of the journey is trusting/supporting their decision making.
Why Tristan was chosen:
🏀 Never gives up
🏀 Never gets discouraged (or shows it)
🏀 Always gives his best effort
Keep setting the tone Tristan. The Pack is proud of you.

Some kids fall in love with sports at an early age. As coaches, it’s important we remind ourselves that youth basketball isn’t just about wins, losses. It isn’t about finding physically gifted, aggressive, or the “best” players in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th grade.
A big part of coaching is helping kids develop a love for the game, fostering joy in the process, and growth over time.
In a world that can easily tell a child “better luck next year,” coaches can become the open door opportunity, the encouragement, belief, hope, and/or support a young player may need to get started or keep going.
We all know early athletic success doesn’t guarantee success long term.
We learned about the concept of “Mind Candy” from Coach Showalter
The idea is simple:
share thoughts, values, lessons, and conversations that can motivate, reinforce culture, uplift players, and spark reflection.

Community support matters. So it is important to us to continue to thank, and highlight businesses and people that helped Wolfpack players/families through during the 2025-2026 season.
Thank you to for backing the Pack this season. We truly appreciate your support of players, families, and the continued growth of the game in our community.

Some of the Spring League squad (Tatum will always be an honorary member). We had two teams playing and mixed up the 4th and 5th grade squads.
Spring league always gives us a chance to put the players in positions they aren’t used to, try actions they don’t always get a chance to, and push themselves beyond their comfort zone.
This year they played against some 6th grade squads which was a great learning opportunity.
Thank you to all the parents for trusting us and allowing us to focus on developing the boys for long term not the wins and losses column. We appreciate you all. Thanks Mid Columbia Hoops staff and officials for making it a great experience as always.

It really takes a village of parents, family, friends, teachers, mentors, coaches, role models and etc… To achieve individual and team success.
A community of people coming together to help grow/develop the next generation is amazing to watch and a benefit to all.
The game translates to life, which is where the score matters the most.

A big part of coaching is sharing ideas we love and borrow from other coaches. So they can help grow and develop other players not just your own.
The concept of “Mind Candy,” is to motivate, uplift, introduce, or reinforce concepts, values, ideas, and/or spark conversations.
