"Peace Through Martial Arts Training” is a program that addresses violence first by educating students to Self Defense – thereby giving them the complete tools to cope with conflict through being able to first prevent it and then to resolve it by nonviolent means, and if all else fails, have the confidence to protect oneself through the humane application of physical self-defense s...kills.
The intention is to bring together people and resources that give an intelligent perspective to the Martial Arts and to disseminate thought-provoking and insightful information about its creative aspects through literature, classes, workshops and conferences. Martial Arts can give the student the opportunity to understand oneself. The practice of the Martial Arts can benefit people in a variety of ways. It is not only an excellent form of physical conditioning, exciting, and a challenging recreational way to enhance agility and strength through an athletic endeavor, but also an ethical approach to conflict resolution in that it can be an effective way to dispel harmful aggression by developing the confidence to neutralize hostility by non-belligerent, alternative means.

Hawaiian Shotokan Karate Do Federation (HSKDF) promotes Kanazawa Ryu Shotokan training in traditional Japanese Karate taught by Sensei Richard De Sa. HSKDF is a family oriented dojo that offers all students the rigorous, physical, and mental training in the art of Karate Do (EMPTY HAND WAY).

HSKDF is dedicated to the practice of true Karate through Peace and Nonviolence. HSKDF objectives is to simply supply all students a mean of developing character while being strengthened both physically and mentally. This goal is attained by adhering to the same high standards and principles set forth by Kancho Hirokazu Kanazawa.

HSKDF provides the island of Oahu communities an affordable opportunity to train in the art of Shotokan Karate, Kaito Gakko, Judo, and Jujitsu. Sensei Richard De Sa treats all individuals as his students, NOT customers. Training at the HSKDF pearl city dojo, is very demanding and all promotions are earned, NOT given.

HSKDF Pearl City Dojo's mission is to "Spread the Power of Love", and to study, promote, and live in peace and nonviolence through the martial arts. Hawaiian Shotokan Karate-Do Federation Pearl City dojo is a member/organization of Peace Martial Arts (peacema.com) and the Pacific Justice and Reconciliation Center.

You are always welcome to join the club or just watch our training. Beginners, experienced karatekas and spectators are always welcome.
