There’s something pretty Texas about racing bikes at a ranch with longhorn cattle in the background. One minute you’re lining up in race mode, the next you’re looking over at longhorns like they’re just there to make sure nobody soft pedals.

Bluff Creek is not an easy day on the bike. XC racing has a way of exposing everything. Fitness, handling, patience, nerves, and how bad you’re willing to hurt for one more spot. This group showed up, lined up, and gave Pearland Bicycles a lot to be proud of, not just for this race, but for the season as well.

It was fun being there, seeing it up close, and getting a small taste of what this team lines up to do over and over again.

Riding and representing Pearland Bicycles on the local trails and XC racing scene is icing on the cake for us at the shop.

We couldn't be prouder!

Huge shoutout to Greater Houston Off-Road Biking Association (GHORBA), Fort Bend Mountain Bike Association - FBMBA, and TMBRA Texas Mountain Bike Racing Association , race director Liz Woodrow and every volunteer who helped pull off the 2026 Sugar Land Classic at Brazos River Park.

After more than 2 inches of rain on Friday, I think most of us expected this race to be a wash, or at the very least a full-on mud fest.

Saturday, they adapted and ran a CX style race in the grassy field. Then, somehow, to everyone’s surprise, Tower Loop was open for Sunday racing.

That wasn’t just luck. That happened because a lot of people worked hard, made smart calls, and cared enough to make the weekend happen. Thank you!

Saturday we’ll be running modified store hours 2–5 as the Pearland Bicycles crew is out supporting riders at the Tour de Braz.

This is the biggest ride in our backyard, and it takes a lot of resources for our shop to be out there doing what we do… keeping riders rolling, fixing problems, and helping riders get to the finish line.

It’s a big part of who we are as a shop, and why makes a difference in the community.

If you’re riding, we hope to see you out there. Be sure to say hi to the folks from the shop. They’ll appreciate the support more than you know.

Big props to our very own Spencer for putting in some serious trail maintenance time on his day off.

That’s the kind of stuff most people never see. Trails don’t take care of themselves, and the riding we all enjoy doesn’t happen without people stepping up like this.
