Acceptance can be one of the hardest parts of sobriety.
Not just accepting that alcohol isn’t serving you anymore.
But accepting…
The past you can’t rewrite.
The person who may never apologize.
The relationship that changed.
The feelings you wish you didn’t have.
The version of yourself you thought you “should” be by now.
Sometimes we create even more pain by fighting against what already is.
Acceptance doesn’t mean you like it.
It doesn’t mean you approve of it.
And it certainly doesn’t mean you stop growing.
It simply means:
This is where I am right now. What do I want to do from here?
That question can change everything.
