Have you ever wondered why despite advances in medical science and pouring millions of dollars into research and billions into the pharmaceutical industry, chronic disease and chronic pain continues to skyrocket?
I know I have, and did some digging to understand the reasons.
I wrote the book that I needed to read to find the answers.

Trivia Question of the day:
What do diet, toxins, lack of movement, stress, physical trauma, childhood adversity ( Big Trauma and little trauma) all have in common?

They all contribute to “turning on” the inflammatory proteins that lead to chronic pain, accelerated aging, and disease.

Fact: Once the symptoms of disease appear and we are given a diagnosis, the underlying biological changes have been brewing for many years.
Many chronic diseases are often the final result of years of unbridled systemic inflammation and the genetic changes that result.

We have been conditioned to believe that with increasing age we can expect pain, disability and disease.
Physiological changes in the body are a direct result of “ lifestyle factors” that are largely within our control.
What are the missing pieces of experiencing a healthier lifespan?
Wellness and longevity are a composite of our mindset, beliefs,diet,fitness level, and our levels of daily chronic stress.
Our capacity to experience joy and peace despite external circumstances is a hallmark of resiliency that also plays a significant role in our long term health status.
We do not have to expect declines in our physical, and cognitive health with increasing age. We can ABSOLUTELY shorten the years we spend with disability and instead continue to embrace an active, independent purposeful and joyful life!

Making changes to our diet or lifestyle is without a doubt very challenging. Resistance can come from our external environment but more often it arises from within, in the terrain of our beliefs and thoughts.
Why would we resist something that we know will help us live healthier, happier and achieve our goals? We do not consciously set out to sabotage ourselves.
The answer is complex, but I can almost guarantee that unless you begin looking at changing the landscape of thoughts, values and beliefs it will be painfully difficult to move toward positive health changes.
In my book, I discuss the necessary steps in building healthy habits and abandoning those that no longer serve us.
