Philadelphia Spirit 14U Black- 2011 Sports team

Congratulations to our own Raelyn for earning the award of “Defensive Wizard” while representing Spirit at the SY All American Games in OCMD! With 6 outs and 4 assists between playing 2nd base, SS, and RF, fielding 1.000 pct on the weekend, it was well earned!

The 2024 season has officially come to a close for our squad. This has been a big year for us in so many ways, and words really can’t describe it all, but we’re gonna do our best anyway.

This team came together in the fall from all different walks, looking for comaraderie and commitment, with the goal of being competitive in the B division. We had our challenges, including some player injuries, but we set that goal together and never stopped reaching. The girls developed a culture that is beyond admirable, and they embraced each other with open arms and huge hearts. As we progressed through the season, it was clear that this was something special and unique- something that none of us had yet experienced.

As we got through our last week at Nationals in Myrtle Beach, the emotions got even bigger. New experiences, different environment, some of the toughest teams we’ve seen so far, and the final days of softball with our 5 year tenured player whose family is relocating. With all that on their plates and their minds, this team went into elimination day and FOUGHT FOR THEIR LIVES 👏🏼👏🏼 After falling behind in the first inning, they battled back and held the game tight the rest of the way, taking the lead at a point, scoring in the ITB, and making the other team work their butts off to earn the win against them.

We’re happy to announce that this team officially ended with a winning season, going 24-23-2 on the spring in the B division, achieveing their goal and proving to be the 🥎👏🏼B.A.B.s👏🏼🥎 that we all know they are!!!

These girls were selected as All-Stars by the opposing coaches in our 5 pool play games. They were selected for aggressive performances, great attitudes, and overall champion showmanship. Can’t wait to cheer them on and share about their games in the next few months! 💪🏼👏🏼💪🏼👏🏼

Friendships were forged, lessons were learned, and these girls are ready to attack 14U!! 💪🏼🥎💪🏼🥎

THANK YOU to #2 Sophia for letting us be part of your childhood these past 5 years. It’s been an honor to watch you grow, and an honor to be part of your family. We’re all going to miss you so much, we’re so damn proud of you, and we’ll be cheering for you in whatever your next endeavors are! ❤️❤️

🥎👏🏼B.A.B.👏🏼🥎 this weekend is #96 Sadie! 100 degree heat didn’t stop her from puttin on a heck of performance in the field, fielding 1.000 on Saturday and 4 putouts on sunday, including a running catch in RF from her second base position 💪🏼 Sadie logged 3 beautiful hits, scored 3 runs, and kept her “cool” the entire weekend!

Our girls did such an amazing job today!! They played back from a tough 0-2 day yesterday, and made it to the semis. Then these girls left it all on the field and held the 1 seed to only 3 runs! Against the same team that won by mercy rule just yesterday. Proud is an understatement 👏🏼👏🏼 We’re headed to Nationals next week, and we’re super excited to take all this learning and hard work to the fields in Myrtle Beach!

🥎👏🏼B.A.B.👏🏼🥎 for this weekend goes to #36 Mia!! This girl is always ready to go, not just this weekend, but EVERY weekend, no matter the circumstance! Mia is one of the best teammates that you can ask for in any situation, hot or cold, leading by example and lifting up everyone around her. She logged 2 singles and a double, caught for 10 innings straight with only ONE passed ball, and fielded 1.000 between Catcher and 3rd base with 10 putouts, 3 asissts, and zero errors!! Chick is a force and WON’T be stopped 👏🏼

It was a beautiful weekend for softball, and a great weekend for some achievements! CONGRATS to #19 Cassidy on attaining 100 Strikeouts this season! 👏🏼💪🏼👏🏼💪🏼 To say she’s been working hard is an understatement, and we’re so proud of her!

Philadelphia Spirit Fastpitch Softball, a non-profit organization, has been in existence since 1991. Our long history of an established softball program has a foundation built on commitment and dedication of volunteers serving the youth of our communities.

Our Organization prides itself on training players year round in the following aspects of the game: offense, defense, speed, mental toughness, sportsmanship, teamwork and most importantly, the values of academics.

The Philadelphia Spirit Gold program has a rich tradition of placing student athletes in universities and colleges
