How I deal with negative feedback 🫶

As a creative person, it can be really hard to get negative feedback because what we make and present to the world are often deeply personal to us.

However, as a board game designer and now self-publisher for over 2 years, I know that it’s very important to do self-reflection and take the good with the bad. Most people don’t mean harm when they give negative feedback - and playtesting new suggestions may end up changing the game for the better in the long run.

I want to open up the conversation with my fellow board game designers and ask how you deal with criticism and negative feedback. Does it bother you, and if yes, how do you deal with it?

If it doesn’t bother you at all, how are you so strong and where do I get some of that?! 🫣😜

What do you like most about Cake Auf?

We’ve made big updates to Cake Auf 2nd Edition!

We’ve compiled all of the comments and critiques from the past 2-3 years and made Cake Auf into a better game.

Here are the major changes:
1. Much better Typography: easier to read!
2. Icons instead of Text: easier to spot patterns!
3. Less small text: now more child-friendly!
4. Recipes are given star ratings based on difficulty
5. No more rounds: game is straight-forward and snappy!
