I often get asked if siblings should have separate swim lessons.

My answer is almost always no. ❤️

That’s not to say there may be exceptions—there absolutely can be—but they’re very rare.

There’s so much value in siblings learning together. They watch each other, encourage each other, challenge each other, and sometimes do things they never would have attempted on their own.

This kiddo watched her big sister do a backflip off the ledge into the deep end… and just minutes later, here she is doing the exact same thing—with zero instruction from me. 😍

This is why I believe it’s SO important to allow kids to explore, experiment, and learn in the water during lessons.

Confidence and ability aren’t built through linear instruction alone.

Sometimes the most valuable learning happens when a child watches, thinks, “I want to try that,” and discovers what they’re capable of. 💦

Let them explore. Let them experiment. Let them learn from each other. That’s where some pretty amazing progress can happen. ❤️

Before meaningful learning can take place, a strong rapport and positive relationship must first be established. This foundation creates the trust, comfort, and sense of security needed for effective learning to occur.

Two months shy of her third birthday and she’s thriving in the water and doing freestyle. This didn’t come quickly or easily. This is weekly lessons 12 months of the year and starting lessons before she could walk. Man, what an outcome to all that hard work and time! You go, girl! 💪🏾

According to the CDC, we lose the equivalent of 11 school buses full of children to fatal unintentional drownings each year in the US.

Water safety education and proactive measures are more vital than ever.

Drowning is the #1 cause of accidental death in children ages 1–4, and the #2 cause for ages 5-9.

By learning and using the 5 layers of protection, we can make the water safer for everyone.

1. Barriers and Alarms
2. Active supervision
3. Water Competency
4. Life Jackets
5. Emergency Preparation

Hi swim family! Some of you may have heard about the botched concrete job that was done back in April that prevented me from laying down the extra track. I wanted to take a moment to recommend and rave about Custom Concrete Designs. They were tasked with ripping out the current concrete and putting down a new extension pad. They were professional, meticulous and friendly from start to finish. The concrete looks a million times better and they left my yard better than they found it. If you have any concrete needs in the future, I HIGHLY recommend them. They are located right in riverside and have 40+ years in business. Have a great weekend everyone!!
