A lot of people separate the exams.

They think the bachelor, master, and clinical are different.

But they’re not.

It’s the same content.

Here’s the truth:
On the master exam, 20% is clinical.
On the clinical exam, 30% is clinical.

That’s the only difference.

So what changes?
You just get more clinical-style questions.
More recall.
More application.

But the content stays the same.

And here’s where most people slip up:
They don’t know their learning style.

I test that first.
I figure out how my clients learn best.
Then I design a program that matches them.

No cookie-cutter prep.
No guessing games.

Just the right style for the right learner.

That’s the first thing we address.

If you’re serious about passing your ASWB exam, don’t do it alone.

I’ve helped thousands of social workers move from “I can’t” to “I passed.”

I didn’t plan to write a book.

It started as a scribbled-up notebook.

My own therapist on paper.

I wrote scriptures—because faith kept me grounded.

And on the other side, I wrote reflections to shift my mindset.

To remind myself that what you plant in your mind grows.

Some days felt heavy.

Studying wasn’t always peaceful.

But I kept writing—every day—for 90 days.

No audience.

No perfect plan.

Just me, my notebook, and a promise to show up.

When I finally passed my exam, I found that same notebook.

And something inside me said—this needs to live beyond me.

So I published it.

For every social worker studying in silence.

For everyone trying to climb out of a dark space.

Because healing doesn’t arrive one day.

You build it—page by page, prayer by prayer.

And one day, you look back and realize—

what started as survival became your gift to the world. ~ Shara Ruffin

Back in 2010, I thought passing the LCSW exam was just about studying harder.

I bought more books.
I filled more notebooks.
I reread the same pages again and again.

But passing an exam isn’t only about cramming information.

It’s about building the belief that you can keep going even when it feels impossible.

One page when you’re tired.
One practice question when you’d rather quit.
One step when the path looks invisible.

The compound effect of those small choices is what adds up to a passing score.

Most people obsess over the wrong metrics:

How many hours they studied.
How many pages they highlighted.
How many times they reread their notes.

But what really matters?
Your persistence. Your belief. Your consistency.

I spent 10 years chasing my LCSW.

The difference?
I treated every step forward as progress, even when it didn’t look like it.

That mindset is what finally got me across the finish line.

If you’re ready to stop doubting yourself and start believing in the steps you haven’t taken yet, remember: you can do this. You can pass.

09/30/2025

It’s 2010 and I’m staring at my exam books.

Another late night. Another stack of notes. Another round of doubt.

Fast forward 10 years.
I finally earn my LCSW.

Most people don’t see the in-between:

• Days I wanted to quit
• Weeks where nothing made sense
• Months when the path felt invisible

The truth is simple:

I kept going.

One page at a time.
One word at a time.
One step at a time.

Not because it was easy.
Because I refused to stop.

That’s what I want for you.

Take your exam.
Trust the steps you haven’t taken yet.
Believe in yourself when the process feels endless.

In 10 years, you won’t remember the questions you got wrong.
But you’ll remember the day you finally passed.

Yes, it’s hard. But you can do this. You can pass.

09/27/2025

They tell you to “just focus on passing the exam.”
But here’s the truth: it starts with mindset.

If you don’t believe you can pass, no test-taking strategy in the world will save you.
That’s why I don’t just coach exams.

After 20 years in social work, I’ve learned something bigger:
✅ Your career doesn’t have to trap you
✅ Money doesn’t have to be a taboo
✅ You deserve to live the lifestyle you’ve dreamed of

I love social work. But I also love freedom. And I believe you can have both.

This isn’t just about passing a test.
It’s about rewriting the story of what’s possible for social workers.

She Was Deaf… And Still Passed Her Clinical Exam With Me 😲

When Shannon first reached out, I had no idea what was coming.
We scheduled a call—yet it wasn’t her who picked up, it was her interpreter. That’s when I realized she was deaf.

My first thought?
“I don’t know American Sign Language… how can I possibly help?”

But Shannon was persistent. She believed we could make it work—through her interpreter, through Zoom, through consistency.

So we worked together. Week after week. Six to eight weeks of commitment, courage, and creativity.

And guess what?
Shannon passed her clinical exam.

This story isn’t just about an exam—it’s about refusing to let limitations define you. It’s about persistence. It’s about proving what’s possible when you believe in yourself and don’t give up.

👉 If Shannon can do this, imagine what you can do when you stop doubting and start acting.

I’ve watched fear and self-doubt dissolve in seconds… the second someone passes the ASWB exam

I get to watch people go from “I can’t” to “I can.”

I get to witness the exact moment when fear, self-doubt, and anxiety flip into confidence, clarity, and victory.

It happens when someone finally passes their ASWB exam.
And yes—on paper, it’s “just” an exam.

But what I’ve learned is this:
It’s never just an exam.
It’s proof you’re capable of more than you ever believed.
It’s the door to doing the work you’re called to do.
It’s the turning point where your story changes forever.

Watching that transformation—time and time again—is why I do this work.

If you’re tired of carrying the weight of “I can’t” on your shoulders…
And you’re ready to finally claim your “I can” moment…

“The ASWB exam isn’t about a license. It’s about proving to yourself that you were capable all along.”

Most people don’t fail the ASWB exam because they’re unprepared…

They fail because they never built a study schedule.

Without structure, every day feels like catch-up. Stress piles up, confidence drops, and exam day becomes a gamble.

A consistent study schedule changes everything. It’s not just a plan—it’s proof of commitment. It gives you clarity, control, and momentum.

If you’re serious about passing, stop winging it.

Start with a schedule. Stick to it.

That’s the roadmap to success.
